Our first Skrill chargeback attempt

I assume most of you have not met a Skrill chargeback, as we hadn't before today. I included the email for discussion, so you have all the information we do too.

By the looks of things this was a 'non receipt' claim rather than unauthorised access. The two main paragraphs are the most interesting, they seem to be a lot more accepting of virtual sales than PayPal do. They even state that they accept chat logs and video recordings, and directly address an 'online game environment'.

As for the proof; I emailed them the order details from our website which matches the email address, amount and date/time, but also shows what he bought and his rsn. I also submitted screenshots of delivery which matches the rsn and amount.

I feel confident that we will win this based on how understanding of virtual and gaming sales they seem to be, however it depends if they are more buyer or seller inclined. If there is something they don't understand or are unsure of, will they side with the buyer or the seller? I could be wrong but I doubt they'd do intensive research into each game or other virtual market.

Skrill generally side with the seller in situations as such.

 

As long as it's not a reoccurring habit on your part in terms of chargeback attempts, you should be fine.

 

Looks like you're in a strong position here. What will happen if:

A) You win, will the buyer be affected in any way?
B) You lose, will you be affected in any way?

Obviously besides losing x-amount of money, will you/they be "black listed" or perhaps even have your/their details passed on to authorities?

Very interesting though, that they accept more varied proof than competitors such as PayPal. How have you found it as a service? How are their CS teams, if you've dealt with them?

As for Skrill as a payment processor they seem more competent than PayPal in that the employees actually know the rules, however the customer service is similar.

you should win this tbh you have more chance on a skrill cb than a pp one gl

 

I've had 2-3 chargebacks through Skrill years ago, it resulted in my account being closed and the money refunded.

 

How much was the trade worth if I may ask?

It is too bad that you won the case in a sense because I would have liked to see the results if they actually had to do an investigation and see who they side with. Nevertheless congratulations on winning the case.

Skrill is going down the hill tbh. Their customer service is awful(used to be better/faster). I got my account locked a month ago. Gave them all the info they asked and it took them a month+ to get my account unlocked. Maybe I should have called them again after the 1st time, but it was such a pain to even get on a phone with the customer service. Better late than never though and my acc isn't perm limited.

PS! This is my 2nd MB account, 1st one was locked(could withdraw the remiaining funds instantly though) cause they asked me what did I sell and I was too honest. Never tell them you sell Runescape gold, NEVER!
