Auto-Draft Suggestion.

Words can not describe how angry I get whenever it takes me 20 minutes to write this elaborate over the top reply to a thread from my cell phone to find out whenever I press submit, my phone lost service- along with my work.

How about an Auto-Draft setting on Sythe? Similiar to what you see with Email providers;



Every time you begin writing on Sythe the system can Auto-Draft everything you've written every 3 minutes? This way you will never lose that great thread or reply you've been working on for the past half hour due to whatever reason.

Once a reply or thread has been posted, the draft is no longer saved.​

 

Would really like this suggestion. No negatives and saves me the trouble of constantly copy and pasting to a notepad in case something happens to the text.

 

If it saved draft posts IN THE THREAD ITSELF that would be awesome, I'm not sure if its possible though.

 

Yeah it's possible. The text would be saved in the message box until posted and you're notified in the corner of it when it's saved.

 

Doesn't happen to me often, but when it does it's rather frustrating. Good suggestion imo, support.

 

This would be great too. Out of curiosity, why only in the thread itself? Why not save a copy of the draft in your control panel, where you look at your inbox at? Whenever you view the draft, link it to the actual thread where the draft would be stored anyways. That way whenever you are able to view the draft, it also puts you on the thread so your not searching where the thread is later.

 

I like the suggestion I personally think it's a great idea. Support.

 

I support this as well. I've encountered the same problem in the past. I just hope it's not too hard to integrate.

 

I suppose either way would work, that was just my initial thought. Usually the only time that you'd need it is if you accidentally delete what you said or your browser crashes. Then you just pull back up the thread and the post would still be waiting there in draft form.

 

Yeah. Exactly.

Can't see any negatives to this. Any other additions or suggestions? I think its a pretty solid suggestion.

I agree. That's also something that could be added along with it, similar to how whenever you receive a new PM a pop-up appears.

If you use the advanced post menu for large posts (which you should do anyway) and chrome, chrome will restore your unposted text when you return to a page, be it from closing the window or hitting backspace accidentally. Not sure if firefox does this as well, but I'd assume it does.
