Can you make money with 99 smithing? RS3

So yeah I haven't played in a long long long time and I was wondering if you can still make money if you have 99 smithing? or even herblore?
If it's still possible can you post methods and if you don't want the world to know you can always pm me

 

You can't make money with smithing or herblore. You can always make unf potions and sell them back, don't think you make much money off that anymore though.

 

i remember 72-99 smithing costing me 38m using irob bars i @ artisan workshop
low exp/hr but cheapest method+most afk

 

I'm not sure if people still do this but there -used- to be an excellent way to earn money with 99 smithing, and that was getting people to pay you to make them promethium armour/weapons in dungeoneering.

 

He was asking if you could make money with having 99 smithing/herblore.

There were always Fc's that did this for free.

including ;

firemaking/construction/herblore/smithing/crafting/farming

 

In theory Smithing was probably meant to be a skill that was able to be used for money making. However, because of the Grand Exchange, most of the "money making" skills, including most 'natural resource' skills like fishing, farming, woodcutting etc were all rendered pretty useless.

Because armour is easily found/dropped and sold on the G.E - users can pick it up at a lower cost than if the G.E didn't exist and it had to be sourced from users with high Smithing levels.

So, no, there isn't really a way to make money from Smithing that I'm aware of in RS3. Unless you mine the ore, smith the armor and sell it. However, it's probably not worth the time and effort and you probably would be better off selling the rarer ores (not really clued up on the prices at the moment so that could be total bullshit).

Agreed, probably the only way to make money while leveling up smithing. It would take a lot of dedication though

 

This is using todays prices. Negative numbers make money.


It may not be fast, but you can profit from smithing.

With herblore, you're looking at a minimum of 10gp/xp for a decent method, so that's 130m for 99 minimum.

 

nope.... You cannot get 99 herby and smithing and make money. back in the old days in rs, i think, making p-pots can make money... But that was patched long ago.

 

quickest money making now days is to kill green drags in 07 and swap the gold for Eoc tbh, since the value of 07 is that much higher

 

If you have the combat stats you could kill Exiled Kalphites for Damaged chitin. You can turn this chitin into chitin scraps which you can sell.

You get more scraps for damaged chitin depending on your smithing level (40 each at 99 smithing) . I believe this method can be a few mil an hour at higher smithing.

 

Herblore will be impossible.

Smithing is plausible, but you're looking at a really slow rate.

 

This is a really simple question I think there is no point in smithing 99 it's not worth the time doing basically

Unf potions for herblore, cannonballs for smithing. It's basically bitch-work and not really feasible exp.

 

Smelting rune bars for smithing is profitable
Making unf lant pots using dung wasteless scroll is profitable but both require some start up cash

 

Back in the day when mills were king i used to clean high level herbs and make some decent profit. Make a ghost mouse for it speed it up all you have to do is bank. Not sure if they're still as profitable with the lessened amount of bots but give it a shot
