TWC Dispute

Superman, my TWC isn't warranted.
THere is no TWC report, I'm assuming Superman decided to give me one based on his own false judgement.


What happened:

-> Lost $1k to LoLSmurfin
-> Paid off $175 to LoLsmurfin immediately.
-> Paid for much more of it with a Runescape Name.
-> Requested a ban to sort out financial dealings/etc.
-> Requested an unban
-> Unbanned
-> Following up with LoLsmurfin
-> TWC'ed


This is a private debt, you shouldn't interfere with it. I obviously would have left when I was down $1k if I had intended to scam. I requested to be banned two days ago to sort out my financial standing. LoLsmurfin even told me that I didn't need to request a ban.

I just talked to Smurfin about my shiny new TWC, he agrees that I shouldn't have it and that it makes no sense.. Ask him on skype if you want to confirm.

LoLsmurfin never reported me. I requested to be banned myself. He agrees that I shouldn't have a TWC. This is between me and him.

This is the going against Sythe's own rules.
A moderator is interfering with two users in the sythe market.
I have a private debt to LoLsmurfin, he never reported it. Why should you have anything to do with it (why should i be TWCed)?











Side note:
Why didn't DJW have a TWC for months leading up to his ban for not paying a debt he owed?

I'm in contact with LoLsmurfin and not avoiding him like DJW was avoiding MMORPG.

I've paid LoLsmurfin a good chunk of what I owe him (unlike DJW) and it's only been 3 days.....


You're a good mod superman, but please use your better judgement next time.

 

I applied the TWC [regardless of whatever LoLSmurfin thought] because you're still in heavily in debt. We've had way too many issues with debts hanging around and I don't want the same thing happening over and over again.

Staff, I'm open to your thoughts - keep in mind that Roary supports the TWC for another reason as well.

 

Alright. Let me get this straight...

I had the opportunity to walk away from a $1k debt without paying anything.
I obviously didn't do that.
I've paid back much of my debt.

I'm also curious as to how that 3 letter name came into your possession in the first place.

Honestly at this point I feel that some of you are coming down on me for personal reasons. I'm curious as to why I need to show proof of purchase when no other merchants are required to.

There is literally no proof whatsoever that I bought this name knowing it was sniped (which I did not). And I'm fairly certain that it wasn't sniped. A skype convo is not proof. Why would I be TWC'ed for a skype convo that I wasn't even part of (for all I know it could be a set up to try to get me banned).

Regardless, even if it was sniped (which I'm pretty sure it wasn't), I can't be held responsible if I was never aware that it was sniped. I bought it from a guy who claimed to have operated a big FC with the name, and that he had no point in owning it now that gambling's gone (in runescape).

I met him in RS and conducted the trade on teamspeak.

Tell me what I did wrong. If you stick with this TWC you're saying that every market member needs to provide proof of everything they purchase, otherwise they'll be TWC'ed. This is restricting the market, which (to my knowledge) is not practiced on Sythe.org

 

My personal opinion is that you should still be banned until your issue is resolved seeing as that is we do with most people.

As far as the TWC goes, I will support it staying until we have seen some progress.

 

Who did you buy the name off?

 

Given your history with name sniping & name selling, I can't take your word for that.

Bad trading practice, and you know that.

This thread isn't about my ban, which you know I requested. That was a personal ban for reasons between me and LoLsmurfin. It's clear that I'm not out to scam as I could have walked away without paying any of the $1000 I originally owed LoLsmurfin.

What kind of progress?
It really doesn't get much better than paying back several hundred dollars and working on paying back the rest of a $1000 debt. Again, if I were in any way malicious I would have scammed while I was down $1000.

Please explain how I would need to further show that I'm not out to scam than not walking away from a $1000 debt and paying back most of it in less than 3 days.



@Everyone: I'm assuming that the argument about the name is being dropped as there really wasn't an argument to begin with. Also, take a minute and think about how your arguments against me (about my debt to LoLsmurfin) really don't make sense. I could have scammed $1000, but I didn't. LoLsmurfin doesn't want me to be TWCed, and he's the one I owe money to.

 

I was unbanned with full confidence (as stated in the stipulations regarding pardons thread).

I'm not sure you fully understand what happened back then... I bought sniped names from Aaron (which so many name sellers on sythe were doing) and then sold them. The difference between me and the other name sellers is that I was not aware that it was not allowed, as the rules were very hazy at the time. Therefore, I didn't purposely hide the fact that I had bought names from him. (While the other name sellers did). I personally don't know how to snipe, I was just a name trader looking to make some money (like all the others).

Tell me Superman, what could I ever do if he recovered the name? He was willing to go first because he knew he could recover it if I scammed (which I wouldn't do).... After talking to him he seemed legit and I bought the name. What's the problem with that?

Does this mean I can ask you to request proof of purchase from anyone I deem suspicious of having stolen goods? If so, there are so many people who are going to be TWCed.

How can that in any way be considered proof?
There is no evidence there whatsoever.

$330 paid today to LoLsmurfin.

It's clear that I'm not here to scam.

 

Would like to see TwC stay in place until all debts are cleared

 

I'll support the removal of the TWC once the debts are fully re-paid.

 

Denied, I'm very happy that you've been paying back LolSmurfin, however I'd like to wait for all debts to be re-paid for the TWC to be removed. Keep us updated Jake, you're doing great. If you keep it up, the TWC will be gone in no-time.
