Thoughts on Black Santa Hats?

I'm wondering what your thoughts are on the future of black santa hats, the newest runescape discontinued item. Will they rise? If so, how much? Are you guys investing in them?

Currently, the black santa hat is only available as a very rare loot from the festive cracker (1/2000 chance). The crackers themselves are pretty hard to get, so many people feel that when the Christmas event is over, there will hardly be a few thousand of the hats in the game. As such, at least based on a few threads I read on the RS forums, many feel that they will rise quite a bit following the removal of this year's event.

Personally, I've been trying all day to get the crackers in hopes of getting one of the hats for free, but of course I've had no such luck. I've hardly received any crackers at all! If any of you have any good farming methods for the crackers, please post them! Also, if you've been lucky enough to get one of the hats from a cracker, please share.

I'm going to buy 1-2 near the end of their available period but I'll sell them soon after they make a decent rise. Xmas hats made me profit but holding onto them would have just meant I broke even on them.

 

They will definitely rise. Seeing as Jagex plan to expand their game, we should see an increase in players, and the black Santa hat will slowly get rarer and rarer

I think it's a poorly thought out update, seeing as they essentially created another rare.

 

They've created many new rares, thus breaking their promise of not repeating the same mistake of making tradeable rares.

1. Fish Mask.
2. Christmas Tree Hat.
3. Crown of Seasons.
4. Black Santa Hat.

Conclusion: Jagex is full of crap lol.

 

Rares were nice because it was almost a 100% guarantee that similar stuff wasn't going to be released. It's quite a shame :l.
