Teleportation Achievable?

Teleportation could be achievable, but on what grounds, we do not know.

A thousand years ago perhaps, those people moving brick stones could probably signal to another colony using a fire or some light source, but they'd never thought that we could actually hear one another's voice from over a thousand miles away.

It's the electronic technology that brought us these amazing mechanics these 10 or 20 years. Much more can still be achieved. But if you're talking about a short cut through space, perhaps "hacking" space to carve a vacuum to travel through, you're probably gonna have to wait another thousand years.

When one thing moves to another place in terms of physics, there would always be some sort of force involved. Be it acceleration, gravity, or any pulling force. Therefore, in order for teleportation to happen, a force not of speed and acceleration must take its place, something more magical and perhaps will change the laws of physics if it was ever to be discovered.

 

I'm obviously not going to read 7 pages of this thread, but teleportation is entirely possible in a few different ways. The only downsides are either certain death or lack of required energy.

The first method is to deconstruct the object/person to teleport on a molecular level and reconstruct them on the other side. Regarding an individual, we would essentially kill the original self and "clone" instantly "clone" someone on the other side. This would have the same limitations as the speed of light however, as signals containing the deconstructed data can only travel so fast.

The second method is to travel through time without travelling through time. If time is linear, it's entirely possible to travel along the 4th dimension. It would work in the same way FTL travel would work for spaceships, just on a smaller scale. You take a point A and a point B that are far apart, and you essentially make the distance closer by bending spacetime around the subject. Mathematically this is entirely possible (and a similar FTL drive is even in development as we speak based on the Albucierre drive (I hope I spelled that properly)), the only real issue being the required energy and the storing of that energy. It's said that an entire star would have to be consumed to do something like this, though I don't remember the article being entirely credible.

Interesting stuff though.

 

I think besides the fact whether its achievable or not we can discuss whether it will be legal and who will be able to do it. If anyone can just teleport if it was actually achievable what stops someone from porting to a bank or into someone else's house or other stuff. It's like if u can time travel u go into the future and see future scores or bets or cheat in tests ok and stuff. Maybe just something else we could discuss

On your comment, I don't think teleportation to ANYWHERE would be possible for a very long time, as molecules and electrical currents have to be 'transported' or copy'd before actually being back in their original/copy'd state.

In other words, the first working model would be a sending unit and a recieving unit most likely.

 

Not just that, the teleported object is permute; therefore each quantum level (or a much smaller scale that we don't know of, relating to the string theory here) must be teleported or copy-pasted in the same order. Like say you're teleporting a human. You don't want his organs or body parts to be misplaced. Fuck you don't even want the DNA strand to have different nitrogen bases, so it would be pretty hard.

First method is like entanglement, and we already discussed that in pages 1-3 with the topic still popping up until now.

Second method is using the power of wormholes, and I would like to correct that the 4th dimension HAS NOT YET BEEN CONFIRMED THAT IT IS TIME ITSELF. I already previously stated that we could open a portal to the 4th dimension but it could also be impossible as the human eyes could only see 3 dimensions. What would the 4th dimension look like? How do we know if we are in the 4th dimension?

Time travel is also an epic topic to talk about though, but I'd like to keep this thread on teleportation.

Wormholes are also interesting, although I don't particularly count it as teleportation, same goes with quantum entanglement.

Traveling through dimensions are different than teleporting. There are other ways to displace an object 1,000,000 km away (almost) instantly.

Teleportation in the nativ meaning (getting from a to b without moving) is physically not possible but it may someday be possible to just Reconstruct a living being in a different spot while destroying the original. Thats probay the neareat humanity will get to teleportation (except lvl 25 magic varrock tele )

I've never really looked into this so its a good read . I personally think it is possible. no reason what so ever other than I'd like for it to happen haha. The idea is difficult to get around when you get into it, But I don't see any reason as to why its impossible
