Pardon Problem @ Mods - You're Doing it Wrong.

This guy owes a lot of people money. He is applying for a pardon. Why would we tell him to fuck off? Get him to pay people back, then tell him to fuck off. Stop ruling on pardons before they've paid back their debts! It's so simple.

 

Support, that's how pardons should be dealt with. Refund before consideration of fuck off. People who are responsible for scams should show intentions of refunding and refund partially/fully before mods show support/no support

 

I literally just PMed Corey this. It's unfair to the users that were scammed.

Corey doesn't class as 'Mods'. He is a single mod. Making a single error. Don't say all mods are 'doing it wrong'.

 

You don't pay attention to the pardons. Most mods do this.

I agree with this as well. Better contact should be made with those attempting to pardon so that maybe the victims can still be repaid or atleast compensated in some way.

and he also literally says he wants staff to help him figure out who he needs to pay back..why is staff unwilling to coordinate that to get money back to who it belongs to? Isn't that kinda their job?

 

It's a consistent problem across most staff which has been brought up for years.

 

I don't know about you guys, seeing Corey, FireZ or whoever going "no fuck off" in the dispute is pretty damn hilarious...

They don't swear unless the person deserves it to be honest... if they deserve to be treated like shit, they will be. You don't see a new user or fairly respected user getting told to fuck off do you?

 

Personally I cringe when I watch, for example, prison documentaries where the guards use profanity to the inmates..clearly people guilty of worse crimes than this guy yet it still bothers me, it's kinda like emotional abuse. If you're in a position of authority why not just rise above it? Yeah he did whatever but what is you providing that kind of response going to do?

It's proving that given the bad thing you did (i.e. mass scamming / deceiving) shows you won't be treated with much respect. That's like going to prison for raping / murdering an innocent woman, you're don't expect to be treated with respect when you get in there, do you/

 

They don't have to be treated with respect, but just because we don't respect them doesn't mean it shouldn't be the case that repayments should be asked of them before they're told to fuck off.

The victims are innocent members of the forum that we should respect and cater for.

 

I guess you have a point. I wouldn't defend a rapist or murderer..just depends where you draw the line I suppose.

 

People who scam one hundred dollars worth of runescape gold aren't comparable to a rapist.

 

Honestly, if someone who owed money had attempted a pardon back in the day, it would have been an instant lock with the response "pay back what you owe and then your pardon will be eligible for consideration".
