Name Snipers

I bought a name and my friend was telling me how this guy uses a client to snipe names, and it snipes it at .1 of a second 24/7 so it's impossible to transfer. Is this true?

 

Pretty much. I've had a half dozen names sniped from me in the past. People use bots to snipe them. Your best bet would be to transfer the name seconds or minutes after an update.

Sadly, this does happen. Heads' advice is pretty solid and will likely give you the best results.

If you've noticed nowadays, people tend to make sure that the name is completely silent, that nobody is talking about it before it's transferred, but chances are that you'll still get sniped. I'd love to have transferred a different name onto my main, but I didn't want to lose my mains name or another rare name. Snipers suck.

Can't you message jagex and show them proof that you are the owner of both accounts and have the name transferred for you?

Yeah, I've seen a few people bragging in-game about snipping names. Kind of pisses me off but whatever.

 

I don't know about .1 of a second, but a bot can do it much fast than you can, that's for sure

 

Mods do move names for you if youre lucky, and you get a stupid mod, or you get a clever mod and they lock the account and change the name back, but yeah transferring after an update is a good idea, though if theres not one id leave the name changed for a few weeks until people think the names not going to change again

 

You have to be the original owner of the account to do so.

 

From experience, you dont its tough, but with the right wording its very possible and me and a couple of friends have had it done before, luck of the draw i suppose

 

I have a pretty decent name, and it was pretty scary to transfer. Fortunately it wasn't, but if yours is an extremely awesome name, chances are there is a bot going after it >.<

As alex stated, there are mods out there who would do that. A friend of mine a few weeks ago met a jmod who unbanned his main for him after 11 months. It had over 500m+ on it and they gifted him 2 weeks of free membership. Really is all dependent on luck

 

Actually you can request jagex to change the name for you from your other acc.
They even say that, basiclly when i tried to get my irl name as my rsn they asked me to speak with the guy and if we made a deal they'll transfer it for us so it's safer.
And no, i'm not comp caped/famous.

 

It is possible to get a mod to xfer the account, especially if you're friends with a lot of pmods and in a clan that is on good terms. I've seen it happen before.
