Lord of the Rings: War in the North

Does anybody else play this? It's an okay game, reminds me a lot of Dark Souls where you die a lot but not *really*. The loot mechanics are basically the same, gameplay is hard at times, and the stats mechanics are also really similar. It's just not as dark and the story is sort of confusing.

Anyway, I think it could have been a lot better if they didn't make it linear. Making a game similar to this on one giant map using quest hubs a-la-Elder Scrolls would have made it a lot better.

It's fucking stupid that no developer has taken it upon themselves to make a good open world LOTR game. The world is perfect for it, it's definitely big enough (I'm not counting that dumbass WoW clone MMO they've got going). They had one in development too which pisses me off. LOTR: The White Council was supposed to be an action RPG very similar to Oblivion. That'd have been sick.

Anyway sorry about the rant. Back to the subject game, which character do you guys enjoy the most? I've been having fun with the mage so far.

Yeah, Shadows of Mordor or something. Apparently it's still going to be a linear piece of shit. Who knows, maybe it'll be fun like Two Towers and Return of the King were.

 

It's a decent game, definitely worth like the $5 I payed for the whole humble bundle.

 

Lol yeah that's where I got it too. The combat is pretty fun but the story is total shit and it's terribly linear. I do intend to finish it though between my Skyrim replays ;P
