Lending btc to a hard drug user is comparable to giving a cancer patient cigarettes. I think the lenders involved are fucking morons and enablers.

Yes, because they were loaning him money... You're a fucking moron, read the scam reports again. Those were all trades, where DJ scammed them and kept delaying payment, and continues to. All while openly talking about the drugs he does in the spam forum.

If some guy who scammed $2000 got banned and posted a dispute saying his girlfriend left him because he is a drug addict, he'd get the time of day? He absolutely wouldn't.

This is a huge abuse of trust, considering we all know he has his vices(heroin, being one of them), he knowingly took money from people telling them he'd pay, when he knew he wasn't in the position to do so. And as long as he's chasing the dragon, he probably won't be able to get his life(and debts) in order.

Obviously, I feel for him, I really do, but if your crackhead[1] friend, came into your house and you sold him something on a credit basis before he disclosed the fact that he's a drug addict, you'd expect him to pay for what he bought and if he can't do that after a fair amount of time, you'd kick him out of your life, at least until he gets his act together and/or pays you back.

Anyway, that's my opinion on the situation.

I agree with Syed here. You can't put an admitted addict in a position to where they can gain large amount of money easily and have no repercussions. If this had come up from someone that isn't on the mod team they would be banned immediately, ala Stui. We're all forgetting that Stui borrowed money (essentially) and was consequently banned when he didn't pay it back fast enough and then he was told he'd have a TWC when he'd come back. The current ban reason is fair though, because he went full retard.

 

I agree with a lot of points you made, but fact is dj is a known drug addict and btc is used primarily for drugs and or illegal porn and various other shady things. Giving btc to a known drug addict is fucking stupid. Expecting prompt payment from a known drug addict is stupid.

Im not putting any blame on anyone other than dj here but damn, theres a severe lack of common sense here. Not reporting for ages and trading currency used for drugs ( he even said so in a skype convo ) to drug addicts are stupid things to do.

 

Actually, most of you probably have never seen this in your life so how should you know, but usually when people are "spiraling out of control" is when people (especially those owed) will make last ditch efforts to get their money. I don't understand how they're douche-bags for asking him to pay money that he owes? For a lot of people in DJ's position, this is when they fall under the grid and start acting evasive.

PS. You guys are funny, most of you encourage drug use any chance you get but when it gets serious like this, then everyone is stupid.

 

This is in no way applicable to me, i've struggled with opiate addiction myself. Hell dj and I have spoken on it pretty extensively.. I've also never been one of these 420 blaze it faggots (theres plenty of them here) even if i still smoke a little bud. Not sure if your comment was directed at me but if it were I suggest you get to know me a bit before casting this kind of judgement on me.

I feel for dj and he knows it.

When I lent the money, it wasnt for drugs (at least I hope). I don't want to violate DJ's privacy so I won't go into the exact reason, but he basically needed to pay a fine otherwise there would be harsh consequences. DJ said he'd pay me back with his next pay check, but he never did, but I was cool with that at the time since it was a legitimate excuse. To his credit, a few months later he did pay back $50 of the initial $150, but that doesn't change the fact that he still owes $100 that was supposed to be paid back ages ago. As for not reporting, I already explained why I didn't in a different thread- I just didn't want to cause trouble for DJ since he's a friend. I still haven't, and I won't either since I don't want to create more stress.

Don't know DJ but I do agree with this, wouldn't wish that sort of thing on anyone.
