I've met "X" in-game, he doesn't play anymore though, but he did show me 20b+ bank.

 

He used to pretend to be a DDyce host and would scam people back when hosting was allowed. That's probably how he attained a good chunk of his wealth.

I've DG'ed with him a couple times, he was considering selling but ended up keeping it.

 

Seems more RuneFest rare names are popping out of nowhere still.

From what I have been reading on the RSOF,
Not only did attendees get the name they wanted by entering the area...
But Jagex distributed emails to some attendees randomly for a name request.

Really curious why Jagex is trying to hurt the name sales market when it's dead.

Unless there is another reason, who really knows...
Seems unfair to legit players.

and they are just trying to be unfair, and lie more to their playerbase.

 

They weren't giving out names to *hurt the market* they were doing it to reward their loyal players that paid however many dollars to visit their silly event and swallow their bullshit.

From a marketing point of view this will encourage a lot more attention for next years runefest = more money for them.

 

this is possibly true, but i imagine there'll be a name release by then, as theirs alot of motion behind it, and its about time.
If RuneFest is on next year i'll laugh, theres only 100k players who've basically logged in since divination release

Jagex are giving away people's names that aren't played on regularly, so keep an eye on your rare names, I lost 'deflect' to someone who went to runefest and requested it.

I just saw Assasin in game.

 

Not very rare, seeing how "Assasin" is spelled "Assassin".

I still think its fairly rare
