Ex-Moderator Ranks

Lazy I'd say more alone the lines of have the two Santas but just have mini images of all 6 sections placed around one-another in a ring.

I think it would look cool.

I'm not sure if that would work because that looks more like a fun rank now

What I dislike about the current rank is the use of the word Retired.

If someone is demoted for inactivity, does that make them retired? or an ex-moderator? Not really a big deal, but I believe the generic 'ex-mod' sounded/looks better as it appeases both scenarios.

 

Moderators that are demoted are usually not given any ranks.

I can understand why the change was implemented, considering Global moderators had to earn their position above what sectionals did, it gives them a reward they deserve. But I also feel that the Ex-Sectional moderator rank is a little unsavoury.

Mind you, I've never been too good with change so it may take some time to get used too, it just looks a little less cool and professional. Hardly a big deal though.

 

I think the current one with six edges looks fine now. I still stand by saying it looked better than the previous flower one when I made the post though.

Also, the ring idea probably won't work due to the images losing too much detail/quality when shrinking them + looking out of place next to the two giant santas.

Not a fan of your suggestion Lazy. Either it should be the greyed out version of whatever section they were with between the two santa hats or it should be an alternate image. It shouldn't be a random asterix/star flake or whatever that is. All the other images are runescape based. At least keep the consistency.

If all the other ranks were not rs based then the asterix wouldn't look as bad but since they are rs based, well...

 

I think a bald eagle would look cool in between the two santas.

There will be a sectional rank and a global rank
The sectional rank will be generic - Matthew has said that
They will both incorporate the santa(s)

If you have an image which fits those criteria then feel free to post those below and if there's enough/anything favourable perhaps it will change.

 

I like what's been done with the ranks. Sectional mods shouldn't have the same rank as Globals. In all honesty I don't really care for what's in the middle of the rank, but Dave's suggestion of all 6 of the sections in one small ring between 2 santa's sounds kinda awesome, if somebody wants to try make that?

 

Are we really arguing about ex-mod ranks? Does it really matter? They hardly look any different. Using multiple ranks for ex-sectionals makes no sense since most of them have been in multiple sections.

 

It's a nice idea, but it doesn't really work. Rank icons should be simple, with Dave's idea too much ends up happening for an icon.

I'd like a new center icon, because it alienated me. But other than that, I don't really give a shit. It's nice to have a rank for recognition in the first place, so i'm not going to be fussy. Plus with the other benefits ex-moderators have, we shouldn't be bitching.

 

I don't see why they would split ex sectional from global, it's not like globals do much more work, it's pretty similar actually.

 

Globals have earned a higher position on the forums though art.

I think the rank at the moment is fine, it's different. However, there are these types of sectional that have been active recently

- RuneScape
- Off Topic
- Graphics
- Support
- Community

6 Active Sections, 6 points on the star. Sorted.

If people want to be picky though, there is also

- SFA
- Personal Support
- Game Dev
- Gaming
- WoW
- UE
- Programming


Which is another 7, but a star with 13 points would look messy right? IMO, keep it how it is.
