Vote no to Prestige

How does this update make the game any more or less fun/discourage activity in any way? It just makes it so you can go beyond 200M xp, actually giving the players an opportunity for MORE gameplay.

As long as they give they convert players with more than 13m xp to the various prestige's I don't see a reason to oppose the update.

 

They lose players but must be keeping profits because why else would they be ruining the game for old players.

 

If they convert current xp to prestige how is it ruining the game for old players? If anything it gives you more to work for..

 

So what is the new cap going to be?

 

I don't think that its been announced yet, but its going to exponentially higher

99 = 13m xp
1st prestige = 26m xp
2nd prestige = 52m xp
3rd prestige = 104m xp
4th prestige = 208m xp
5th prestige = 416m xp

I'd imagine that they would go to at least 9, or 10.

 

I'm raging about it from all the xp I've gained in skills in attempts to get closer to my 200m goals. I'm absolutely pissed because of it.

 

They said they would change it. If there are no changes that will change the game for the better before the poll I will instavoteno.

 

Where/how did they say that they were going to change it? I'll vote no as well if people lose the xp that they've already acquired.

They're probably going to count the xp that you already have, they must have just not clarified that well though. If they did this they would be alienating all of their most dedicated/hardcore players.

 

Saw it on silentc0re's video saying they will change it due to the negative feedback.

 

I don't even care if they roll it all over. Still hate the idea.

Why? You can still go to 200m if you'd like and view the same highscores. All that it does is allow people to train further if they want?

 

Games already dead, and that's from someone who still likes it.

 

Prestige is going to affect such a small portion of the userbase. How many people are really going to care about Prestige? Does it provide any gameplay bonus to your character?

They're not planning to retroactively apply Prestige because all the crazy 200M exp'ers are going to be miles ahead of anybody else. There will be no sense of achievement for people once Prestige launches if there are already players with thousands of hours devoted through past training.

Anyways, this is not something I think is worthwhile implementing. I don't think the average player wants to train another 40M exp after getting a 99.

 

I really hope that this isn't the case. If they're really suggesting wiping all xp over 200M (or at least not having it carry over) they're out of their minds. I'm choosing to believe that they aren't simply that stupid..

Dark Dreams, fair enough that you are trying to see this from both perspectives but now that the poll has been released I think it is very important that we vote no.

Somebody asked what the new cap will be - there isn't going to be one. One you get to ~16 prestige, you will require 194m xp to reach the next prestige, and after that it will continually be 194m more. Clearly, people need a finite goal in order to be motivated to attain something.

Anyone that currently has 200m xp will be given no credit for the 12 years of playtime that preceded before this insult was contrived.

And so many more reasons.

 

Yeah, I did my best to see its utility within the game and I still think if done correctly it would be a good idea. But killing the xp that people have been working on for years and years is a big slap in the face to the most committed players in the game. For that reason I voted no as well :/


I really think that either xp should be converted over to prestige OR they should just raise the cap to 1b xp or something along those lines. Both would lead to a revival of the stagnant highscores without robbing anyone of their hard earned work.

Kind of shocked to see how poorly visible this page is given on the RS website. Currently it is in 6th place, below a list of other less important posts. But, the vote is going well so far so I can't complain really.
