i use windows 8 and imo its a bit (just a little bit...) more smoother than windows 7. It's all about getting used to windows 8 missing start buttom eheh :p

I'd go with Windows 7. Windows 8 is unnecessary and I find it hard to use without a start button. Plus Windows 7 has been out for longer and has more bugs and issues fixed with it.

Windows 7 can probably run MAYBE more bots, it would use less resources than Windows 8 does.

Personally, windows 7 all the way. 8 is only good for tablets/touchscreen laptops. For a PC, I'd rather go w/ 7

I prefer 7. I have windows 8 and I barely leave the Desktop app (basically win7). But then again I just don't like change, I'd have Vista ideally.

Windows 8 is slightly better, I personally got use to the modern UI for the start screen but I barely leave the desktop anyways. If you don't like the new start screen just install Start8 and the start menu will work the same as Win7.

I use both windows 8 and windows 7 across my computers. windows 8 sucks without using classic shell. Once you install classic shell, it's no different than windows 7.

If he is just botting with it the efficiency gains in 8 are all that really matter.

    The decision is really simple

If you want a marginally faster OS and don't care about getting used to a very different system from Windows 7, go with Windows 8.

If you want to know your way around the OS, want better support and fewer issues running software, use Windows 7.

Windows 8 is alright once you download start8, but it was a bit annoying because sometimes the start menu wouldn't be there for whatever reason. I personally much prefer 7 ^.^

Win8 definitely is better at starttime, cause actually it never shutdowns. Microsoft used kernel hibernate trick to gain boot speed.

I prefer 7 since I am used to it.

To be honest though if you are serious in changing OS for the purpose of botting you should get XP since it is faster than 7 and I'm pretty sure it is also faster than 8.

Ah yeah I just did a bit of reading and it seems that windows 8 is faster than XP on today's computers since it can maximize the use of the better specs through the use of 64bit programs, etc.

If the OP has a poverty computer he could use XP and it would perform better it sounds like however.
