General/Off-Topic is a clusterfuck.

Can we please change it to this set up?

 

I would support something like that. Much better than the off topic clusterfuck that we have now.

 

Something like this is perfect, so can a non-lazy staff member present this to Richard and get his input.

Support, I personally try avoiding general/off-topic due to how cluttered and untidy it is.

It's a bit silly that the admins are limited in what they can do. Just makes doing anything take forever which just isn't very helpful.

 

It should be prioritized.

General/Off-Topic has died down significantly since the change. Re-changing it should be top priority of forum restructures.

Threads: 2, 5, 9, 12, 18, 20 all belong in the support center now.
Threads: 6, 15 ,17 belong in video clips
Thread: 8 belongs in graphics
Thread: 7 belongs in community general
Thread: 14 belongs in market discussion

12/20 threads that used to go in off topic no longer do. It looks like 7-15ish threads were posted on every day.

Do you know what we did? We killed Off Topic by making too many places to post!

Get rid of music. Get rid of sports. Get rid of assets. Get rid of moves & TV. Get rid of video clips.

Rename Help & Requests. Get rid of Sythe.org Support. Make Personal Support a subsection of the newly named Help and Requests. Bring back the UE and put an Applications section. Rename the entire section "User Education". Reduce Programming to a single section.

Rename Other Games "Gaming General" or something similar. Get rid of Livestreams. Add a Gaming General forum and move all the threads from other games there. Create a gaming guides section and put it there. Add a link to it in the UE guides section. Add another link to the Runescape guides section.

Let's fucking do this.

 

Forgive me if I sound frustrated, but I think there might be a misunderstanding here. From what I understand, the staff members who have participated in all of the forum change discussions have done their best to get actual changes implemented... at this point we are at a standstill mostly because of a lack of admin participation (though oddly we seem to get admin approval for everything). The people who can implement the structural changes are pretty busy with other things. We are already waiting on four (4) forum structure changes and apart from those changes we have been trying to get change to the off topic sections for four (4) months now. I know that the forum structure changes will take a lot of time to properly implement and I suppose the people who can actually carry out these changes are busy. n4n0's been on vacation too.

So, I can (and will after posting this) PM Richard for his input on the structure that everyone seems to agree on but I can't guarantee anything will change for the time being. I've sent off the PM. Thanks for the input everyone.

 

Thanks for clarifying. Personally, I didn't know that we'd be penalized and I don't think many others knew about that policy either.

The descriptions will also need changes to fit the new forum structure. Other than that, you've covered everything as far as my eyes can see...

 

I also think you should merge the two programming sections into one, but other than that, that seems good enough.

What would be perfect is the archival/removal of all subsections for that particular section, but for now that works.

 

Query: Will the popular threads from Health & Fitness and any other forums that are being archived be moved to Off Topic General & other respective forums?
