Hmm, I don't really think it's a brilliant idea, as it's gonna encourage all that fake member signup things again, which were a massive pain in the ass. OK, we all tried it, and it worked, but it was a pain.

a stats section on the user profile would be cool. referral stars, total post count, whatever (i'm not sure what other kinds of things are possible)

 

Location looks better than referrals IMO. I think that if the data page with the separate post counts was possible, then the referrals would be better suited there.

 

Eh, maybe add a existing rosette of some sort to the current referral minirank.

 

Agree with the above comments. The placement is awkward and a mini-minirank is a bit repetitive :/

I don't like the ranks within the text section. It just looks odd and out of place to me. I think it'd look better with the star ribbons somewhere on the user's profile instead.
