    Yup it's gone on the 27th unless you're fighting a guy without 70 magic/attack

Nothing passes unless it gets 75% or more, if I remember correctly. So the crossbow doesn't look like it'll happen. The magic weapon looks likely though.

DDS will still be prevalent in hybridding as well, also have to remember not everyone can afford the new items so it's not like there will be no demand, or use for them.

I really hope the staff of light replicated item is only something that acts similar as far as magic boost goes. They've mucked up staking enough as is, I can't be bothered to deal with another item like the SoL

what they need to do is, if they add sol spec which reduces damage by 50-75% (dont remember exact), the output damage with the staff should also be reduced by 50-75%

Simple solution.. Check each other's inventory before staking and you can still dds.

    - You have the player send you a trade offer and duel offer.

    - You accept the trade offer and show inventory.

    - Click on the pending duel offer to go straight from the trade screen to the duel screen.

    - Problem solved.

Not to mention, this won't effect 60 attack dds staking pures since you need 70 attack and 70 mage to wield the SOL.

If you don't possess the mental capacity to check your opponent's inventory before staking like I've already stated, then yes, you can still be scammed.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but accepting one invite from someone cancels other invites, meaning that when you accept the trade and then the duel, it simply closes the trade and sends them a duel request?

Maybe I'm just remembering this wrong, but I thought this was the case.

Either way, if you think nobody is going to be scammed you're rather foolish. Not everyone is going to bother doing that, not will everyone who does remember to do it all the time.

Human error is the most powerful factor.

Any halfway decent staker will certainly do the trade screen straight to dueling screen method of scam prevention every single time without fail. That's the sort of human error that results from ignorance, not inconsistency.

Also, @StakingKing, from my little experience with the fellow, funbox is pretty much a troll - that or he simply loves inputting his opinions as fact when he has no idea what he's talking about. Just ignore him.

Well, that is how we used to do it back when SOL was around in the live game. It would go straight from the trade screen to the duel screen.

I didn't say nobody would get scammed. The OP and others act like it's the end of dds staking when there's in fact a simple solution to prevent scams that I've explained. Pure dds stakers, which make up a sizeable chunk of the staking scene, won't even have the reqs for the SOL (75 attack and 75 mage I believe) so it won't be much of an issue. As for high level stakers you can simply whip stake or check inventories before staking if you don't want to use the SOL.

In other words, if someone wants to assume the risk by not making it a habit to check inventories before staking then that's on them. If the community thinks it's that big of a concern then we as a community should speak our minds. That way maybe we can have Jagex implement something like "DDS Staking Rules" (Movement on or off), which will automatically set the rules for DDS staking and won't allow you to use a staff of light.

Lol, alright, thanks for the information. I assumed that after his last post.
