I'm 19 year old, and my boyfriend is a 14year old kid.

People make it seem wrong because he is not "legal" age.
Once he is an adult, the age difference will not matter.

Let's not beat around the bush here. What if your 19 year old friend was dating your little brother or sister? How would you feel? There was age laws for a reason.

 

At such a young age, I don't think it's okay to be dating five years younger, either. You're getting to be a woman, and he's pretty much still a confused kid.

 

I personally think you have to assess how much you like him compared to how much it bothers you being talked about ( not that I'm saying its easy)

The reason I'm saying this is its going to be frowned upon by the majority until the day he turns 18. That being said if you really like him stay with him.

If you truly do like him and have feelings for him, then you'd be willing to wait for him to mature with age. Yes the age difference is pretty big for now, but give it time. As people say, to his his own. You do You. Take peoples advice but don't let it shadow your judgement. Just keep it as close friends right now, and let it grow from there!

I think it's weird honestly. I wouldn't want my son nor daughter dating a 19 year old at the age of 14 I wouldn't let it happen. You're both at completely different points in your life. You may say what you'd like but at 14 he isn't mature he has barely started puberty. Not trying to sound mean or harsh just giving you my honest opinion.

 

Age is only a number. I personally wouldn't date a 14 year old, but I feel that it is different with men and women. You are a woman, and I'm not sure where you live, but in certain states of america it is IMPOSSIBLE for a woman to be charged with statutory rape. A 50 year old woman could sleep with a 13 year old boy and there's nothing his parents could do about it legally. Now, I don't know where you live and everywhere has different laws and beliefs. When I was 15 I would go to parties and hook up with women in their mid-late 20s.

I would say if you really care for him, just be with him.

Stand up for yourself and your man. This should be his job, but when these people ask you if you are brother/sister and he doesn't stand up and say something, do so yourself, and do it proudly. Let people know you don't give 2 shits and fuck what they think, because all you care about is him.

 

I don't think it's weird quite honestly. You might have a legality issue nevertheless (my source is sex-ed class in freshman year of high-school) because if you supposedly date someone under the age of 18, you can be put on the sex offenders' list. I cannot validate if this is false or not. If in fact it was bush-league, I don't see a problem with dating. So long as both your parents are okay with it, (mostly your boyfriend's) go for it! You never know where the relationship could go

I can't help but point out if you were to swap the ages with sexes. This would bring out very different opinions from people.

Personally. I find it not so bad with the girl being the eldest. Which completely contradicts my mind set on the matter.

As for my advice, you should still remain with this person. But I'd be careful on who knows what. And absolutely keep your attitude towards celibacy.

OT: Who cares what others think, all they will say is you are a cougar or a cradle snatcher and that kid is the fucking man, I don't see why if it's as serious as you think it might be you couldn't wait till you were both at a 'legal' age but until then just be happy with each other and if i recall correctly from when i was a horny 14 year old bastard that secrecy with this stuff is enticing and always keeps shit fresh so play it out aslong as you can and enjoy yourself and each others company

 

It doesn't matter how much they like eachother. Its still wrong and illegal. If the roles were switched and it was a 19 year old Guy with a 14 year old girl he would be treated like a monster. A 14 year old with a 19 year old regardless of the role is wrong

Who the hell cares what other people think, just look into your heart and do whatever makes you happy.

Don't let anyone dictate whether or not you can be happy. It's your life to live. If you want to be with a 14 year old or a 34 year old, be with them.

 

As long as they don't have sex it is not illegal. In terms of it being wrong, sure there will be some odd looks for a few years. Once he gets out of high-school though he'll look more mature and they funny looks and judgement will likely stop.
