What should my tattoo say?

After I get the shitty tatts on my left arm covered up, I'm going to get "Born 2 Lose" on the right side of my collar bone and "Destined 2 -something-" on the left side. Either "Fail" or "Win".

Both ways would have a meaning to me. Fail would be more of a political statement and Win would be more of a personal accomplishment statement.


Fail would symbolize that no one is given a chance anymore. 90% of successful people in America since 2005 were born into success. For example, a poor, trailer trash girl with amazing talent has almost no chance to make it big in hollywood, while the daughter of someone famous that has no talent will almost be sought out for a role in a movie, etc.

Win would symbolize that even though the above statement is true, I fight through it and survive. I live with some pretty serious depression, but I always survive, I always make it through. No matter what happens I push on.


So both statements have a pretty deep meaning to me. Which one would be the best to choose?

 

Destined to Prevail would be nice

 

It would, but "Born 2 Lose Destined 2 Prevail" doesn't have the same ring to it as "Win" or "Fail" does.

 

'Destined to Fail' is stupid in my opinion. I'd say go with 'Destined to Win'.

 

Why not just wait until something comes to you instead of trying to push the thought?

 

Well it's not like this will change anytime soon, I've wanted the tattoo since I was 15 (6 years) and for the entire time I've never been able to decide. Considering both have an important meaning to me, it makes it hard to choose. But I talked about it with a few RL friends on Facebook and think I will go with "Win" due to "Fail" not having to do with me personally and instead is about my country as a whole.

 

It should say "How tough am I? I ate a bowl of nails this morning... without any milk!"

I have plans to get covered pretty much head to toe and eventually plan to own a tattoo shop. To me, tattoos are not a "waste of money" but a monument of the most personal form of artwork. They are a passion that shows who someone really is and what they believe in.

 

But you have recently been having money issues right? At least you were last time I read your posts. I think you should wait until you are more financially stable to get covered in tattoos.

 

I'm getting drug screened for my job tuesday. As long as I pass, I start work as soon as the results get back. I will be making 850 a month, 350 will be taken by child support, 50 goes to rent, leaving me with 450$ to spend on anything I want each month. I'm soon to be living the good life again, honestly and hard-workingly this time.

I know the person in your picture isn't old... shes just... I'm not sure what that is.... but most people say "you'll regret it when you're old" but I bet these old guys are still proud and remain true to their ink. The bottom one looks like one piece is actually even somewhat fresh. By head to toe, I didn't actually mean on my face. Although there is a few I wouldn't mind on my face, but very small. I want a skull and crossbones under my left eye, but I want it so small that if you aren't right up inches from my face it just looks like a small mole or something.

Bottom line. You'll only regret getting a lot of tattoos if you are not true to them and passionate about them.

My mom dated a guy whose mom was called "Sarge" IDK her real name, but she was a chill old lady in her 70s. The day I met her she had just got done getting some work. She got some kind of tribal thing down the left side of her cheek. Looked mean as FUCK. It went around her eye, hairline to jaw line nose to ear. And it looked really good on her, she had the right kind of face shape for that. I do not. And if I ever got anything like that, I'd have to be in my 70s too, due to possibly needing a new job someday.


HOWEVER!!! If I ever become a tattoo artist and decide to start shaving my head again... Just for the shit of it I think I'll get something like this tattoo artist:



The sleeve I'm getting to cover up the shitty family names on my left arm is going to be similar to that, just bands wrapping all the way around my arm with Nordic style designs in them. I'm fuckin' excited for the sleeve. Will most likely always be my favorite.

Well if you want to keep that job, then my advice would be not to get a tat on your face. That will just make you look like a clown (in my opinion) and hardly anyone would want to hire you...

Also, Destined to Win>Designed to Fail. If someone walking past you in the middle of the street saw that, he or she might think you're some kind of pessimist or something.

 

It'll be on my collar bone... I don't wear button up shirts very often... I never wear them unbuttoned... I hardly ever walk around on the street shirtless, so unless I'm out doing some hard work for my grandpa or something, you won't see me without a shirt unless you come to my house....

Are you sure you know what a collar bone is and where a collar bone tattoo is located? Here is an example... Mine will be in much smaller letters with no design around them, so they will not show at all unless I am shirtless or wearing a V neck (which I NEVER do, and NEVER will). And before you mention my profile pic thing, that intentionally was unbuttoned just for the picture so that the tattoo would show... lol



Now, lets put this young man in a horribly "painted" t shirt that has the same neckline as 99% of t shirts.



However, though google images calls that a collarbone tattoo, mine will be much higher up, yet still easily covered by the t shirt. Mine will actually be on those 2 bones you see sticking out right above the edges of that tattoo. A quick photoshop example (quick, not trying to make it look real, obviously) with the red still representing shirt collar. So even wearing a shirt with a low collar, you would only see the E of lose and D of destined. I used win in the example, due to being pretty sure that is what I'll be using, however either way, one would not see "fail" or "win" without me being shirtless.



Hope this has cleared up any misconceptions to anyone (not just Heads) about where this tattoo will be.


While the thought of the sleeve is still fresh in my mind, I'll be getting something similar to this:



However, that is a "polynesian" tattoo. Mine will have more viking style designs in the "bands" such as the man's face in the earlier post. The sleeve will extend to the end of my wrist/top of my hand instead of slightly up the forearm. The circle on the shoulder will have a protection rune instead of what I believe is a polynesian version of Thor. The back of my hand will be covered in the Valknut symbol (the triangles in my signature).

On my left arm I currently have (in descending order) my mom's, daughter, brother and father's name going down the arm side to side. and longways down my arm I have my grandparents' names. On the inside of my arm I have the outline of a skull, on my wrist I have a razorblade and on the back of my hand a symbol meaning "13" Which will all be covered by the described tattoo.

 

tattoo should be with important words 4 u.

 

Being for me and not the country I live in is exactly what persuaded me to go with "win" instead of "fail".
