Can RS3 Be Fun?

Remember when you first played RuneScape? I found it pretty magical, the best days were the noob days when you didn't know how to play and when full black armour was amazing!

I thought of this and tried to play RS3 legit, I made a brand new F2P account and went through all the combat tutorial and started doing the F2P quests without any guides, just doing it through the game.

I admit it was kind of fun, but comparing it to other modern games I don't think it compares... for example the cut scenes on a quest "Death Platue" it was a bunch of guards ranging trolls, and they fire the arrows at the trolls and there's no blood or any "realistic" display, and I think that makes the game below par.

Also I don't think I'd feel rich wearing full addy (g) like I did back in the day, has RS lost its magic for you?

 

Yep I get the same feeling that is why I play OSRS but it totally changed for me because I started playing runescape back in 2006 and all the updates all the way until G.E and the invention of Nex I loved but whenever they added the rest of it like the Key maneuvers and all of that, that's when I quit basically the beginning of the EOC. Now I rarely play the 07 server only to mine and smith/farm. I even loved the dungeoneering update but now its just to much to bare if they added a g.e to 07 and dungeoneeing I would be fine but until them my runescape days might just be over.

 

Completely and years ago..

I plan on, soon, tossing a bunch of money into 07 scape and playing like I used to... Just going balls out and spending ridiculous amounts of cash at castle wars and the duel arena just for the fun of it.

 

Yeahhhh, for me 07 is too difficult and takes too long to level up, back in those days I was never a pro player I only ever made 1 attack obby maulers and skillers. So I never really played the game fully, I'd feel like I'm just wasting my time grinding on that game when I could just bot it instead :S.

 

rs3 is soo borring 07 is where its at.

 

I want to start a new game but idk if it should be runescape... I tried it, but it seems like there's so many other better games out there instead :S.

 

gw2, and MC are good games, but old rs was the best game ever.

 

I've been playing since 2005 with breaks, and I still find enjoyment in it. I like the updates and the changes over the years. I've worked hard on my account, so I don't know if I'd be willing to start all over again, but for anyone just finding Runescape now, I think they're in for something special. Back when I started, the game was simple and I don't think I would have played for long if I didn't have my school friends to play with. Now though? With the graphics and everything? Totally different story.

 

Yeah going through some places the graphics are awesome.

I was thinking though of something that would make the game coolor is instead of having to click to walk that you could actually use the arrows to move your character, and pressing space to jump or something, that would be EPIC.

Running towards someone to claw spec them out, and hybridding would be insane.

I get bored easily.. but I just hop on and do a few slayer tasks.. its fun to meet new people.. that's why i started RS in the first place

 

I've been saying it for years and I still stick by it - RS died when they brought in RS2. The game could have gone in any direction after RSC (which was a really fuckin cool game), and I've always felt it took the wrong one.

 

I agree. Classic was the best time in RS. Period. However, since RS3 came out, I've discovered the drive and motivation for RS that I'd lost when RS2 came out. There's just a sort of magic and wonder about it and it gives you that same feeling that the game could go anywhere.

 

I personally think RSC was a way better game than any of the current Runescape games. EoC and 07 both. If RSC could get more publicity, I'd definitely go back to it.

 

I've played private servers on and off over the last few years, most are pretty good though they do get boring pretty quickly as they focus on PvP for the most part. Jagex has been trying to phase out RSC for a long time now, which is really too bad.
