I'm sure it'll be great fun. I'm already a volunteer and have been for coming up on four years now. First truck man, live right next to the station. Do college, train for CPAT and PARE and hope for the best to find a job somewhere reasonably close to my home province.

I did a few years in Architecture, but it wasn't for me.

Also, merging this with the profession thread since it's literally the same thing.

My brother is a full time firefighter. Never went to college, got his job at 20 after being a paid on call for 3 years.

    Good luck to you!

As for me, i got my degree in literature with a minor in math. I'm currently getting another degree in business.

Thank you kindly, hoping that I get a job quickly out of school. Currently paid on call but more or less just pays for the gas.

    Hope your brother stays safe.

Me too! He got a job in the city of Seattle, moved last year.

You should be able to write your gas off for taxes as it is a business expense.

Lol my thread got moved into another thread for some reason.... Thats dumb. Whatever. Yea I'm pretty pumped about having a dorm and my own room in it especially. Bummer that we don't have stoves in them :D I'm a boss when it comes to making food!

That's legit. Closest station to my house was like 15miles away. But they were building a small one closer. But then we moved to Virginia. College it is for me :D

I'm going into my third year studying Engineering at my community college. Third year because I changed majors after the first year and I will finish up my associates, therefore save a ton of money, before transferring.

Going in to my 2nd year of a Genocide for Dummies course at University of Auschwitz, apparently it's being taught by a direct descendant of Hitler. It's a very enriching experience. Sieg Heil.
