Change the way donations work:

I would like more efficient ways of donating. Currently the only ways to donate are through members who are deemed trustworthy.

I think it would be a lot better to just cut out the middleman, (since they potentially can gain profit from our contributions to the site) and have it go 100% to Sythe. It allows more revenue to flow into the site to support it.
I understand some of the various security risks, (with PayPal chargebacks but even that can be avoided by only allowing it to certain members who have donated X amount of money) but I don't see many holes in it.

Something simple as buying a MoneyPak, and entering the code into a specific area for donations would seem easy enough. MoneyPak isn't refundable, and it would allow someone to just simply redeem the code whenever it's at whoever's convenience and add the donor status.

 

The middlemen don't gain financially from doing donation services, and there are ways of donating directly to Sythe.org without going through other people such as PayPal for 5+ donors or paybymail.

 

What about then those who pay via RSGP? It's got to convert from in-game currency to real-life currency somehow. The rates offered by said RSGP services are ridiculously below current market prices.

 

If you don't want to pay the $6 or whatever TBT charges for $5 donor, send $5 to a donor and ask them to donate it in your name. Once you are a $5 donor you can donate yourself.

 

This is to weed out potential chargebacks, so sythe isn't left out f pocket. The method in place for donating is simple. Once you've donated over $5 you can weed out the bond holder and send PayPal direct. This is going to get denied, sorry.

 

MoneyPak isn't able to be charged-back though. MoneyPak is linked to PayPal as it supplies the currency someone else already paid for, but it cannot be returned.

 

Same as western union.. It's to avoid hassles, every cent they receive is theirs. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less.

 

Once you donate 5$ you can donate direct, I don't see the issue

It's funny that the only people who complain about the donation system are those who haven't ever donated, and don't seem to have intentions to.

It's a simple system, and if you don't understand it then don't do it.

Some bond holders do it for no profit, and some may even lose money from fees, charge backs, and change of rates. They do you a favor, and you bitch about how they do it.

 

Btw certain bondholders don't live in America so they can't use moneypak and using MM is too much hassle.

 

I make no profit at all. I charge a bit more because of pa fees and sometimes double conversion fees. Only people who accept rsgp might make a small profit, but they also cover the risk of a jagex wipe.

 

I've been waiting over a week to donate after posting twice on TBTs thread and adding on Skype so I can donate via PP. - My intent to donate.

This shows that the current system is flawed, there are so many people on the thread posting to donate yet none have been accepted. Current system is basically turning money away from the site. - My complaining.

U cud have tried paypal via pa. Ill always respond the same day. Most times instant.

 

I don't see a problem with the current setup. Donate 5$ and you get the ability to donate direct. The current bond-holders aren't too hard to reach and they are all very friendly.

And if you're suggesting we all donate straight to Sythe for every little donation, then you're crazy. Sythe has 0 time for that. Again, if you're suggesting an automated donation system; we already have it.

Donations work just fine.

You can donate yourself after $5 through one of those services, no one will force you to donate more than $5 through any of these donations services. It prevents chargebacks and it keeps the Sythe paypal safe.

As for profiting. Some of us don't profit from the services, we simply re-sell the gold instantly to the bulk buyers. Others do profit, and they also risk profiting by holding onto your gold and possibly being banned, price/market changes, etc. Most donation holders offer the same price bulk buyers do, so it's fine.
