Should I even take this job?

I've been looking for 5 years. I'm currently facing a class D felony charge for not paying child support due to not having a job. In those 5 years I've had 4 interviews.

The first interview they told me to come back the next day for a piss test, when I did, they said I wasn't even supposed to be there and that they'd call me.

The second interview I could not attend due to not having a ride and called to reschedule but they never did so.

The third interview the manager wasn't even there to interview me, I showed up, they claimed the manager had left early and would give me a call tomorrow, she never did.

The fourth interview I got the job. I went to orientation today. Seems like a sweet job and if I don't take it, I'll go to prison for violation of probation.

But then, I looked up the company because a few people told me it sounded too good to be true... I found some information, if you read all of this post I found, then you will see I might be looking at even more time behind bars IF I DO TAKE THE JOB!! What the fuck am I supposed to do?

According to the reviews I've found the company has gone by the names: RDC Distributing, Team Enterprises, Team Navigator, CR & Associates, and are also going by the name United Solutions right now

All the info I can find of them changing names is because of being shut down due to legal stuff. This will explain more:

They did not tell me what I would be doing until today in the orientation. They claimed I have the guarnteed 525 per week, they promised me money for the practice weekend this coming weekend, they told me I don't have to go door to door and its all done by appointments and that they also do buisness with a lot of repeat customers. The boss is indeed Russel Custard as they said so in the orientation. I could get into legal trouble for soliciting without a license???

In my opinion in your situation, you're better off just taking it. I had read the other thread you had, about how much you've struggled finding a job. I've had to work at shitty and shady business's before.

Usually these type of companies, as long as you do what they ask you to and you do it well, they don't give a fuck about the rest and should pay you. It may and probably is just money laundering. Bottom line is as long as you aren't directly involved with any of that shit, if shit goes down you'll be on the clear to the eyes of the law.

And well, you said it yourself bud, if you don't take this job you'll be facing yet again, more jail time. I doubt you want that, and as shitty and fishy the job might be, you need it and you know it. Keep looking for other jobs though, so if you get the chance to leave this one you can do so ASAP.

I managed to reschedule my training for next thursday/friday instead of today/tomorrow. This coming week I'm going to set up a meeting with my lawyer and show him the websites with these reviews, let him see what people are saying (not everyone said bad things, but literally 8/10 people are saying things extremely similar to the quotes in OP.) If he don't think I should, then it won't look bad in court that my lawyer advised me not to take the job. Well, at least it'd look better than if I was signed up to go to training then just didn't show up and then my excuse in court being "They seemed shady."

I think you should take the job. If you don't like it or find anything's fishy in it, quit it.

 

Smart move, have your lawyer look through that info. If he advises you it's best not to take the job then basically your hands are free. The court has to understand that it may end up being worse if you take this job rather than you stay unemployed for a bit longer.

If he says go for it, well, go for it. And as I mentioned before, still continue to look for a job even if you do start working there, so whenever you get a different opportunity (hopefully a better one) you can get out of there ASAP.

 

You have no other option for a job your lucky that you can take this so i'd just take it for now to at least live because your in a bad state at the moment in your life..
