Hacked Account

So I'll start from the first, as usual.

A few years ago I left a notebook with all of my gaming details in them at a friends house. Of course, the friend claimed I did NOT leave the notebook there.

The account seems to periodically get stolen ever since shortly after I left my notebook there.

How do I know for sure it is this person?

1. I used random shit. My original recovery questions, etc, were not the real answers, thats why I wrote them down. So the only way for a person to know the details is with that notebook.

2. I also used to play a few other MMORPGs, this "friend" played a couple of those games, namely Shaiya Online and Rappelz. The exact same night my runescape account was very first stolen, both my Shaiya and Rappelz accounts were wiped clean of items/gold/etc.

Before, I never really had any problems recovering the account because of the recovery questions, memory of original details, etc. Now that I can't use recoveries to recover the account and my only option is to enter the registered email address, my only option left was to contact [email protected].

After contacting them, they locked the account, deleted the registered email address and told me I could now manually recover it. I went to the website, entered my recoveries, details and they said they would email me at my email address after the appeal was reviewed.

I never received an email, so I went to try the appeal again and found it once again was asking for a registered email address, and my email would not work.

I emailed [email protected] once again explaining what had happened, and they replied saying "I have just had a look and can see that your appeal has now been accepted! This is great news! " however, my email still would not work to recover, and I was back to square one.

I sent them yet another email, once again explaining the stolen notebook, included the account details in the email, and about the situation where it had been unlocked by the other person as well as many personal details to help prove I am who I say I am and so on and requested the block the other person's IP address from recovering the account.

This time, I didn't even receive the conformation email that I have always gotten right after emailing jagex. Did they ban my IP from emailing them or something? Am I just fucked after wasting 10 years of my life maxing my account?

 

Don't trust anyone

 

I didn't trust him. The notebook had tattoo sketches in it as well and leaving it there was an accident.

 

You should always get the auto-confirm email from Jagex. Sometimes their email system runs a bit slow and it might not get sent automatically (delay of 5 minutes or longer).

If you do not get an auto-confirm, email them again. Also, emailing to [email protected] sometimes gets better and quicker results.

I doubt they can IP ban you from sending emails - but they might not look at multiple appeals from the same email address (filtered perhaps?)

Try emailing [email protected] and if that doesn't get you anywhere, try a few JMod friend chats.

Recovering accounts involves a lot of patience. Don't lose hope, though. It's rightfully your account and you should be in possession of it. Keep at it!

 

I have sent the same email to [email protected] twice now, once before I read your post and once again right now and still did not receive the automated email, I tried sending to [email protected] and instantly received the automated email.

I'm calling it a night. its 5am. So i really need to catch some Zs. TTYL.

 

Try tracking the last IP that was logged into the account, maybe it matches your friend's ip.

Haha, the last time he did it I threatened to knock his ass around. He didn't do it again until now. I imagine someone else I know told him I was out on bail and have agreed to take a 5 year probation plea when my court comes around, so he knows I won't touch him for atleast 5 years.

 

Leaving any traces of your information can get your account hacked easily, sorry for the inconvenience of this happening to your account.

 

Sorry, how can you call this person a friend?


You can catch your friends IP via skype and then match it to the runescape one.

 

Probably a former friend. A childhood friend..

 

ok ive had this problem before just make a new Hotmail account or something and email them from there put in all personal info like adress,web host (virgin media etc ip address when account made etc

 

If you have you're friends on skype. you know their IP adress.

 

Honestly email parents@jag. They will solve your problem! Pretend to be the father or mother or any guardian and explain your situation. They usually answer quicker and faster. Good luck!
