Let's start preventing the scammers coming back plz

Hi there
As most of you know there are a lot of scammers out there that join sythe, get banned and rejoin... Can't We have all the people who get banned ip banned as well, if they do not try to dispute there bans?

If you post a thread you often see plenty of people making useless comments on it to get there post count up to scam someone which is really piss taking. Lets have these bastards gone from sythe because they ruin the community and put everyone on edge.

Note to anyone in higher authority :

Ip ban people who get banned, (give them 7 days to try dispute.)

Ip ban Vpns, people who use these im sure if there not scammers wont mind using there own ips to log in to sythe




- Benefits of removing these dirty scammers -

= Better community
= People won't be as scared to trade
= We won't have the same scammers repeating this bullshit
= We can bring more people into the community who dont go about there days of making several sythe accounts to get high post count, and giving each other fake vouches.

I'd agree if there was an automatic system that'd automatically IP ban a user when banned but, not if it has to be done manually because it'd take a shit load of time. If you've ever used the vBulletin Administrator Panel, you'd understand how IP banning works, you must individually insert each IP in a little notepad-like box, you'd have to keep switching to tabs and load each banned account one by one, scroll down, copy their IP, go to IP ban tab, paste, and re-do.

Also, 7 days is too short because it can be a rush. Someone can be on vacation or need more time to appeal, ETC. Banning proxies is already done, somewhat. You can only create one account under each IP and since more proxies are already used to create an account, no one else can use that IP from that proxy to make a new account. As for those that haven't been used, majority of the major ones have been used, of course there are some that haven't and will be dealt with slowly.

As for evading IP bans, it's not that hard.

A temporary ban means absolutely nothing and may as well say "You got caught scamming, come back next week and try again".

 

You do realise that all scammers get perm bans, the temporary bans are when sectional moderators deal with the report and put in a permanent request, as only Global moderators + can apply perm bans, TWC's and SRB's.

 

Hasn't this already been suggest and put down as IMPOSSIBLE to do? People are able to just as easily change their IP. I use my internet as my phone and every time I turn it off the IP on the phone changes *Not sure why but it happens*

It would be nice if we could implant something similar to this, although I doubt it will ever happen sadly..

This is a waste of postcount. We already ban all scammers, there's nothing we can do to prevent them from coming back or using off site messengers to scam with. Closed.
