Which chaotic weapon to get first

Been doing dungeoneering for a while and finally hit 200k tokens. Been reading the guide here on zybez about monster weaknesses:

and it appears although the chaotic maul has the highest DPS in game, there aren't a lot of monsters which are weak to crush.

Should I therefore get the chaotic longsword or rapier or will high DPS be better (I do a lot of slayer but don't have 99s in att or str, I have 80s in those stats).

(PS: I cba to dung anymore hence the predicament).

 

Maul, if you want slash or stab just get drygores. no point in crossbows since u can get royal. staff might be good.

I think rapier is best for slayer as most of the monsters have a stab weakness.

 

I'd say maul. Its what I got first, and my only chaotic, so far its done good Hope I helped

 

Maul- PvP imo
Rapier- Slayer
Longsword- Bossing

 

Maul = Everything. Cause EOC basically messed up all item stats :S

 

Maul does just fine with slayer. If you're gonna get something, I'd get that. You'll zip through tasks so long as you use the ability bar.

 

Thanks for the input. I've decided to go with the maul since the majority of people seem to think it'll be fine for slayer tasks which is what I do most anyway.

 

Good ideal. Maul is the best for your first chaotic since you can't afford both weapons and offhands at level 80.

I got 120 Dung back in 2011 and the first chaotic was Rapier, I didn't regret it. But like everyone else said, really depends on what you're planning to do on RS

Maul > Pking / Some slayer tasks (ie, monsters weak to crush)
Rapier > Some pking, but mostly Slayer
Longsword > Bossing, too slow for pking and slayer

But I think some of the non chaotic items are good like bonecrusher, charm collecting bag, herbicide
