@ Moes so what if it is? Why are you so bent on letting scammers, black hatters back into the community? IF someone is being pardoned they were clearly banned and shouldn't have done what it was that got them banned in the first place and they wouldn't have to worry about the pardon. You can't ask people to vote on subjects they don't know about. At least think about what you are saying before you say it.

I'm not. But i just think if nobody cares about that section and checks it. It should be removed or be made more effective by making pardons valid for 14 days.

 

I wasn't agreeing on that fact, just the last response she posted, the one i quoted.

 

Your missing the point again, It's not about caring or not caring it's about knowing about what you are voting on and I am not saying "fuck the section" Some good people have been pardoned I am sure. I am just telling you that you can't ask people to blindly vote and do you honestly think that people they let back in don't get banned again later down the road most of the time? It is good that they are selective of who they let back in.

Because why do scammers/black hatters etc deserve it? Why do they deserve to have an extra 7 days? You seem to forget that being pardoned is a privilege not a right.

Eh, um... no. Don't be so ignorant.

A lot of pardons in the past have been non-scam related. E.G myself.
It gives those of us that were unfairly treated a means to speak out against elitist, power-abusing staff.

Don't be ignorant, not just scammers/black hat convicted users post pardons.

Alot of you that fight for the removal of this system haven't used it first hand. Alot of our quality members have made mistakes in the past e.g N4n0, who is a clear example of someone who has changed their ways.
On the topic of extending the date, I think either an extension or assignment of moderators to that section would be alright, although the pardon system suffers from "If the staff don't know the person, they get ignored" syndrome, which is to be expected. Like scam reports, should their case be investigated individually, and not just based on popularity?

A suggestion won't change something that's human nature. The pardon system was always like that, if you disappear for a couple months then try pardoning or are a no-name, you're fucked.

Suck up to a couple top blokes and you'll be unbanned, then you can tell them to go fuck themselves, and you can enjoy the rest of your time on Sythe.

@ ameth I know n4n0 was pardoned, Just like I said in my post I am sure some good people have been pardoned aka n4n0 and I am sure some others. But let's face it I am sure there are some rare circumstances but most people get banned for scamming or something else that is "illegal" So why do they deserve an extra 7 days?

 

My point being is that the pardon system isn't just used by scammers and black hat users. I was pardoned after getting banned for archiving a thread, which is hardly scamming or black hat.

PARDONS =/= SCAMMERS + BLACK HAT

 

Once again MOST people, If you read through the pardons when they come in almost none are for rare circumstances like your own and a few others most are for scamming or ban evading, or black hats, but mostly scamming. So like I said again why should it be extended for 7 more days. Besides the reason "not all pardons are from scammers" Which I stated already.

 

Alright, i'll take your word for it. The message I got from your posts was that you were seriously anti-pardon primarily because of scammers and black hat.

I don't see why an extension would be so terrible, but I think specific moderators to deal with pardon cases should be implemented if it hasn't already since the main reason nobody is dealing with alot of the pardons is because the staff doesn't know the person posting as an individual.

 

Who cares? People change, sure, but if you committed a crime once, the chances are re-offending are EXTREMELY high. We don't want 90% of these people back in the least bit, so let their threads rot and be declined. I like it that way. Why bring back the weeds that you've already weeded out?

People like Amethyst are an exception, not the rule. The rule is the child scammer who thought he could get away with it saying it was his brother, but now wants back in to try to attempt a bigger scam. We don't want those.
