Going alpha and knocking a guy out of the ring?

Hey guys, this is sort of a sequel to this thread http://www.sythe.org/personal-support/1561549-so-girlfriends-getting-straight-male-roommate.html

There's been new developments. She's not rooming with him anymore (his name is Alex), she's rooming with her brother til September then her best friend from there on out.

HOWEVER recently I found out that she likes Alex. I sort of suspected it, but was really shocked when I found out they had coffee together. I also found out that my girlfriend was possibly thinking of breaking up with me, likely for this guy, but hasn't yet because she's still pretty confused. I found out about all of that from one of her best friends (he's trusted).

Anyway, my girlfriend doesn't know I know any of that, and she's got this rock climbing lesson pass at her work (she works at a climbing gym) that I'm going to take. Guess when she wants me to take it? Saturday, when Alex is the instructor. This is obviously some kind of test so she can see who's better for her.

So, now I have to meet this guy and spend 2 hours with him. I'm going to have to knock him out of the ring/go alpha, but how the fuck do you do that?

 

I would dump her if I were you. This isn't a competition and if you think she's just going to pick and choose whoever she thinks is more worthy, then she isn't a good girl to date.

I think it was out of line for her to get coffee with this guy and not even tell you.

Even if she picks you over him, who is to say this won't happen again? How do you know she won't go as far as to cheat? If she is interested in him and "confused" then she obviously doesn't respect you and doesn't have very strong feelings for you.

I would get out of it and spare yourself further emotional pain, honestly.

Yeah true. As for her "picking" one of us, I doubt it's really that black and white, and it's also definitely subconscious. I think she wants to see how we act together type thing.

I'm a little nervous though. Usually it's pretty easy to go alpha on guys my age, but this guy is 10 years older than me, if he wants to have game, he'll have game.

 

Honestly, don't sweat it.. You are young...If she breaks up with you for him, Just move on. You don't wanna be with someone that isn't certain about who she wants to be with anyways.

 

Why be the apple who gets picked, when you could be out there picking the apples.

People should have to show their worth to you in a relationship, not vica versa. This isn't the Hunger Games, dump her, move on. Plenty more fish in the sea.

 

Yeah dude I'm not saying leave her before she leaves you if that's the case but you don't want to date a girl that likes someone else.

Yeah I get what you're saying, but there's always someone who is going to be "the apple who gets picked" as opposed to being the apple picker. If everyone thought the way you're describing, nobody would be with anybody lol.

As for the climbing lesson, it went well, the guy seems like a total beta. I acted confident, behaved normally, and well...Yeah. Thanks for the help everyone, I'm going to request a lock now
