    North Korea

If you're in America right now, you've probably heard that North Korea has officially declared a state of war against the United States of America.. Later today or tomorrow, congress is expected to go to vote against going into a state of war against North Korea. North Korea announced they approved their plan to use nukes against the US. No one knows when..

So this thread is for discussion

Also this was released from the Selective Service:

-First Draft: 18-25 (within first year)
-Second Draft: 26-35? (within second year)
Third Draft: 36?-45 (within third year)
-Fourth Draft: 45+ (within fourth year)

Also if you're a girl, congratulations and welcome to equality.

Sources will be posted when I re find them as for now discuss please :)

Source for us declaring war. I highly doubt that is true. There is not going to be a draft to fight North Korea. They are not going to be able to nuke us. If they attack South Korea or Japan they will be wiped off the map nearly immediately.

Pardon for posting, even tho i'm not from america, of course no one wants war or suffering, but if north korea goes against the United States, they will probably be defeated, the thing that worries me most is their confidence in declaring war, or threatening the United States, which we all know they in terms of military technology are way more advanced than north korea, but them knowing that, why are they so confident?

Once again sorry from posting on this thread and for my bad english, even tho i'm not american, but no one wishes war for no one, peace.

The thing is America cant use nuclear bombs (dependent on the size) because North Korea borders other country's. All they can do is plan to take out military bases.

Actually we have tomahawk missiles which will effectively take out all of North Korea without hurting the borders (of course South Korea might get a little bit).. Another reason China and Russia aren't into the whole scenario is for starters China would almost most definitely side with North Korea but if we nuke, the nuke would hit China too..

I leave for basic in july and if anything happens it will just push up my date. If theres a draft I wont have anything to worry about but I HIGHLY doubt we will pull out the draft for a little country like north korea. The only way we will need it is if we invade their country which we probably wont.

I still think North Korea is blowing smoke. It's literally suicide for them to go to war with the United States, and as for who China is going to side with, despite them being allies with North Korea, it seems like a lot better of an idea to side with the United States. Then again, what do I know?

China and Russia would not back North Korea in any military conflict if North Korea decides to attack the south or America. Both countries have publicly stated so.

Russia joined the UN resolution with China. They're both not going to back NK under any circumstances. Every country needs America where it is, and North Korea can't do anything to change that

I don't think they have. China has a defensive pact with NK and its unclear if they will honor it if NK is the aggressor or if SK takes the first strike.

that treaty w/e is like 50 years old, so yeah it's doubtful whether they'd defend nk given they start the fire

China has too much to lose by siding with NK. People are forgetting that China's main goal is economic prosperity and atm, the US is their #1 trading partner. NK is just a noisy neighbor to them.

China are trying to maintain the status quo between NK and SK, as it is currently the best situation for themselves, but they are trying to avoid a war as well.

Just being apart of a UN treaty doesn't mean they won't stand with NK. And NK will not become a world war. It just isn't likely to happen. It will be wiped off the map very quickly and unless China decides to do something and the US decides to tell them to fuck off and unless that escalates to the point of a massive number of countries fighting, there won't be any sort of world war.

North Korea is currently testing different methods of petulance to discover which one will have them wiped off the face of the earth faster. Nuking the US seems to be in the lead.

Sorry if this has been said already, not really in the mood for reading all the posts, just read the OP and the 2nd one...

North Korea is believed to not have the technology to carry a nuke on a missile all the way to America, that if they were to use a nuke, it would only effect south Korea or Japan, but we do have troops over there, so it could ignite a war, but it would be a short one and possibly result to there no longer being a "north" Korea.

However, when I was watching the above information on the news, something crossed my mind.... why would a missile be required? We nuked Japan back in WWII but we didn't have technology to put nukes on missiles to fire that far... We used planes... does N Korea not own any planes? Is the talk of no missiles strong enough to reach us just a way to keep the nation calm?

The Japanese had little to no warning prior to the events at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. North Korea has essentially announced to the world their "game plan" - so to speak. Do you really think the US will allow the North Koreans to casually fly nuclear armaments towards them without retaliating?
