Would it be possible to have banner spots within respective sub-forums?

I.E, the LoL section could have one banner spot, which would be at your discretion and what not regarding price to rent the spot/size etc.

This would be applicable to all sections that have booming activity - RS and LoL are the two that spring to mind. I've been approached by a few LoL Boosters who have their own sites who would jump at a chance to rent a banner spot in the LoL section, advertising their site etc.

Anyway, is this possible? I don't see any negative aspects. Positives are basically increased revenue, traffic and competitiveness.

 

Support - if I was to dole out a respectable sum for advertising, I would like it to be targeted towards potential customers. I don't think the RS gold sites would mind sharing the space with me in the League of Legends services subforum.

If this is implemented I would look into purchasing an advertising spot.

Don't really see any downsides other than slightly less exposure for current gold websites adds.

Why not threads? I don't see the issue between a link to a site and a link to a thread?

@Op, i'll support this; i think Rich should really consider this.

 

Because I feel like it would become pay to win/profit. I wouldn't like to see threads being advertised on sythe.

 

Support, it would actually help sellers on the site and it would have people that frequent a forum find an ad that matches their interests.

instead of having subforum specific why not just offer a discount for sythe members to rent the cross wide-banner?

i don't know what he charges for banner spots, and so far the only sythe member ik to rent one has been r2p, but assuming if sythe members could get a discount could have more money coming in from current members.

 

If we don't actually need the extra income, I don't see a purpose in adding advertisements. Frankly I'd rather have an ad-free website.

 

I dont support this as i feel the website will just become more like powerbot where the the top 30% of the page of the market place is just dominated by people who bought sticky topics for their shops, i feel one of the reasons alot of people still use sythe to this day is simply because they have just as much chance of selling gold/offering services as everyone else in ths specific forum.

 

A decent suggestion but not necessary for now due to the above.
