This is a real issue right now. Skype accounts are completely insecure. People can not fully protect themselves from their Skypes being hacked. I think people should get a PM for Skype trades if they want the other party to be accountable for a scam.

Oh okay, guess I should have done more research. I just panicked because my Skype was nearly hacked a minute ago.

The real issue is that people don't read the announcements (case and point >_< ). Hopefully Skype will address the hackings soon, but it doesn't seem likely.

We should have some sort of one time mass PM warning warning of the hackings.

This was all placed in announcements and threads were made this is why we are having issues because no one reads these things.

i think there should be like an automated message sent to all members when something big like this happens/ is announced. I mean if one of the biggest gold sellers here is a few days late at noticing an important announcement that is never good. I'm sure the message thing is on the DNS list but this is a case in point that not everyone reads the announcements.

If people don't read the announcements and fall victim to their own ignorance, it's their own fault. It's right at the top of the forum and at the top of the forum in the different sections, so there's no excuse for missing them.

An automated PM would have helped. I don't see why it can't be implemented? Is it too much hassle to keep the community safe?

I believe if you buy Skype credit your account is safe. Probably worth looking into in you're serious about being active in the market.

I was informed that it depends on the live chat agent whom you have.

So from what I heard basically some live chat agents ask for the information some don't.

As long as skype have the problem in their security it should be enforced (which it is) and stay enforced that a PM is required as well as a skype message, as if your sythe is hacked then it's your own stupid fault.

    I read it ahah ;)

And yeah now, it requires a PM before trading with someone you are talking on Skype...

I would suggest even more tho. People can still scam by contacting the REAL person and tell them to pm "the victim" at the same time

so at least put a little history of ur conversation (that u had on Skype), in ur pm to avoid more :)

Sry if my english is bad and u dont understand what im saying :p

Skype Hackings - Skype Security is a JOKE

I've just been in a 2 hour long chat with the Development from Skype, gave a full list of every single name who's been hacked, it will be 'patched' let's say within the next couple of days. - I've gave them the full method on how people get into the Skype accounts and what info etc they need to do it.

Basically long story short, they will be upgrading the security to make all accounts impregnable (only way you can get into it is if you're the original owner).

Furthermore they will be checking every single Skype live chat log for the account so they can see how the 'hackers' infiltrate the Skype security system.

So if everyone can hold on, it will be fixed A.S.A.P :)
