I've been trying to get superior Tetsu, but it's clearly taking me quite a while.
So I figured, why not try Sythe?
I currently have about 15 plates, need 200 unless I'm mistaken, for superior tetsu. I have all the scrolls also.
I have 90 herb, fishing and prayer, so those are the 3 skill adventurer's you will have access to. Also, depending on when you start, you will have 3 ships to work with.

best advice i can offer you is to mostly just focus on scrolls, and do all the story voyages you can until pincers, then it becomes worthwhile to hunt trade goods.

assassin(90 slayer) pincer story reward is 25 plate which can be boosted to 35 with jade merchant and fortune of the sea
missionary(90 prayer) pincer story is 25 plate which can be boosted to 35 with jade merchant and fortune of the sea

then after you complete all of the story voyages for the convict(90 thieving), missionary(90 prayer), biologist(90 herblore), you unlock the chance of getting "trio" voyages, each has 3 stages and the convict/missionary/biologist trio's 3rd voyage rewards 50 lacquer and 50 plate, which can both be boosted to 70 using jade merchant + fortune of the sea
