EA has proven yet again to be fucktards

As some of you may have read I'm having problems with a game causing my computer to get hot and use 100% cpu on a 6-core processor. Well, even though I did get alot of help and found a temporary fix for the problem here on sythe, I went to the EA forums to try and find a permanent solution. This will be the story of my experience.

The game I am playing, is Dragon Age: Origins. It has been notified that the game has a memory leak and causes the overheating. I went on EA to try and find a solution or a way to make the computer not get hot.

The forum marshall I had the conversation with, went as far to change my forum post name to "Will this computer ruin this game ? Of course it will!" instead of just admitting the overheating is caused by a problem with the game instead of my graphics card not being good enough (you'll see in my post the game recommended is 3850 version and mine is a 7450 version)

This is not the first time I've had problems with EA. When downloading a game for my younger sibling, spore galactic adventures from their website, it would not install it said there were errors, they told me I must be using a pirated version of galactic adventures and after hours of arguing and even showing them my online receipt which was 100% unnecessary due to the purchase being made on my ea account, they still said that it was because it "must" be pirated software. The game has still to this day not been installed and I gave up on trying to get a refund after a couple weeks. Since then I have only used pirated games, they work better and though they blamed galactic adventures not installing to my store-bought spore base game because it was "pirated" a pirated version installed perfectly.

Another shining example of quality support from EA. Only an idiot would think a 3850 outperforms a 7450.

LOL how the hell did he come up with the fact that a 3850 outperforms a 7450?
Some people... thats just depressing :p

The 3850 should by all means outperform the 7450. The 7450 is a really low budget card that's designed more for video playback, not heavy gaming.

But I think there is a problem with EA's games, sometimes when I play FIFA, I encounter 100% CPU usage on all cores.

The 7450 should play everything the 3850 can play, if not BETTER due to better driver support in the 7000 series.

They are almost equal in raw power.

I built a machine with a 7450 in, I know it's not cut up for gaming. Definitely worse than the HD3850 1GB that I used to own 4 years ago.

The 7450 is just a rebadged 6450, they are basically the same hardware, albeit with a few tweaks. In terms of raw power, the 3850 beats it.

Most likely due to the vram difference. But if you get down to it those numbers, while seemingly a big gap really aren't.

    http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Radeon+HD+3850
    http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Radeon+HD+7450
    http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Radeon+HD+6450

I'm willing to bet that if you were to run a side by side comparison with a 7450 and a 3850 with the same amount of vram in an actual gaming environment, the differences would be negligible.

Either way, the point is I went on their forums to see if there was a way to fix the memory leak or if the heat it was reaching would ruin the computer, and all i got is bullshit.

    This is correct.

You are an idiot for arguing that your 7450 HD is better than the 3850 HD card. The only thing your card has going for it is the larger amount of VRAM - and in a game published in 2009 with standards recommending the 3850 HD card, it shouldn't matter; the game was designed with the memory limitations of the time in mind. Your low-end video card loses to the older high-end card in every other meaningful way: it has a smaller bus width, less stream processors, (possibly, depending on the version) smaller clock rates and more. You shouldn't go yell at customer support when you don't know what you're talking about. The forum marshall responded in a professional manner explaining the situation (your video card is shit, you won't break your parts by using them unless they're defective) and you, in turn, accused him of insulting you (which he didn't) and then you started acting disrespectful.

As for the memory leak - are you sure it's a memory leak? You say that you "recently read that this is common because of a memory leak or something" but have you actually done anything to confirm this? If so, have you taken the usual steps for fixing issues with games: installing the latest patches, updating your computer's drivers, etc. Note that this list does not include being a dick to customer support, as you may have previously thought.

All patches for the game installed, all drivers updated, and a professional way is telling me its not a problem with the game, its a problem with my computer when thats bullshit? I was there to find a fix as well as find out if it could harm my computer. I've read that anything over 70c can cause permanent damage. And yes, search on google for anything similar to my problem, and you will find a post on almost every game-based forum about it being a memory leak and there not being a fix for it, they claimed to have fixed it in the 1.05 patch, but it only fixed it for people using a certain type of graphics card. I dont know how that works, but like I said, its been discussed on almost every gaming forum you can think of, so just give it a search.

Also, the 1.05 patch is the last patch they released, it was released nov. 28th 2011, so if you do look up the problem, make sure to read posts after that date to be most accurate, and it seems 90% of the people still having the problem, all use AMD Radeon cards, some alot better than mind, some worse.

Look, none of you are getting the point. My point is I asked for help making the game not over heat. It is clearly the game and NOT my computer... I will show you why.

This is skyrim, with enb mods, graphics card temp never goes over 61 degrees celsius, even after 6+ hours of gameplay.

Now, this is the game causing the heat of my graphics card to hit as high as 74 degrees celsius, usually reaching 70 and causing the fans to kick on within 5 minutes of game-play (sometimes 1 hour of game play with my affinity set to only 3 processors)!

So a game with much better graphics, lots of mods, larger game world, free roam game world (which takes up more data and more cpu, etc) never makes ANYTHING get hot, nor does it ever take up 100% CPU.

Dragon age on the other hand, is not exactly free-roam, only loads small areas at a time (each area is a different map, its not all 1 huge open world), and the graphics arent near as good, and I have no mods installed for it. So, my problem is that this lower-standard game is causing over-heating, 100% cpu on a 6-core processor and my question was how to fix the problem, not if my graphics card is better than another one.

Dragon age is much blocky-er and not near as beautiful, so why is it harder on my system by so much? because it has a MEMORY LEAK, I'm starting to wonder if this forum is as good at reading as the EA one... I am not discussing my memory card here, I AM DISCUSSING A WAY TO FIX THE MEMORY LEAK, BUT BEING TURNED AROUND AND TOLD ITS BECAUSE IM RUNNING JUNK HARDWARE. But clearly, by comparing the screenshots above, if I can run the first game with no over-heating, not 100% cpu, and no problems, I should be able to play the 2nd one even easier, but again, I cant due to a problem with the game, that EA never fixed, and clearly do not plan to because everyone who comes to them that points out the problem gets insulted and their computers blamed for the problem.

EDIT: It's probably worth noting that I can run RS Bot while playing the game in the first screenshot and thats when the graphics card gets to 61c, without rsbot running its only in the mid 50c range. WITHOUT RS Bot running, Dragon age puts it to 70c+ still.
