Is there a way we can set up like towns and a transportation system, so people can live all over minecraft conveniently and not just near spawn?

 

I asked sythe if he would add in Essentials, giving staff access to create mutliple spawn points and giving regular users the warp function and /spawn command. Last I heard, he's iffy about it because he doesn't want to ruin the survival aspect of the game. If you want more transportation functionality, I would contact him him game (easiest place to find him) and try to convince him

 

Legit way of transportation is mining a shit load of iron and redstone and, making loads and loads of tracks. It could be fun to do legit, like a project to do on the server.

I'm curious, what country is the MC server in?

 

Server is US based from what I'm aware of.

Transportation is do-able but I'd rather not want people just running tracks anywhere. Personally I think it makes the server look ugly (can you imagine a spider-styled track system going every direction because people don't want to walk?). I don't have a problem with /spawn and /f home... but tracks is just... You might as well walk and take the challenge of the walk. *.*

Essentials would be fine with a /spawn command... Fast in and out of spawn for someone that's far away who wants to trade with others. Warp is a little much though for all regular users and would be abused I think (eliminating survival/transportation aspects)... that's if I remember it correctly. You can correct me though if I'm wrong Moh.

Can you explain the whole multiple spawn points part of that? Just so I can understand it better.

Oh, and everyone has to remember we're using a Beta version of the mod... Meaning there are still a lot of glitches. The more you add, the greater chance of crashes/lag/etc..

Not sure if you're running dedicated or "server-grade". I think it's dedicated, but you may need to allocate extra resources to it (above what those stats say if you run mods/etc.). Oh, and if it's on the same server as our forums are running from it might need to change. Finally, you may have to check for mem-leaks/CPU-usage. I know that when Minecraft crashes client-side it dumps out a crash-report. If it does that server-side as well you may want to show the report to SuF.
