    scammers...

Is every one on this site like trying to scam everyone, I havent ran into you legit person since I've started here, are they picking me because im new? or are they taking advantage because im new? I've rank into 4 imposters, 2 scammers (that i've gotten scammed from) and the legit people here I don't even know.

I'm getting real tired of being scammed. I came here to sell some fatailty GP legitly, and soon as I said I'd go first, people jump on it. I had one scammer whom I thought was legit, but acted like nothing happen when I traded him the money. I hate scammers, I hate them with all my heart.

Yes, people will specifically target you because you're new to the forum. Stay alert and use safe trading habits and you will be fine.

The people that are involved in runescape private servers are generally a little bit sketchy anyway so I'd suggest finding a middleman to help conduct your trades in a safe manner.

If you ever need any help my skype is in my signature!

Remember to request a PM, trade only with Trusted People[150+ Vouches]. They might charge you higher but you are assured with a safe trade.

If you are not comfortable, hire a Middleman for your trade.

How can you say only trade with people over 150+ vouches? that doesn't deem someone to be trustworthy because they have a specific amount of vouches.. Someone who is active on the forums, been a member for a long time has a few amounts of legitimate vouches from trusted members is what I'd call a trusted member..

    I don't have 150+ vouches, am I untrustworthy? no.

Different people have different ways of looking at things. That is how I look at things. Sometimes I change depending on how I want things to be on my side, sometimes I check how much value have someone traded before. I don't give a shit about you to be honest. I'm saying in general, why would you feel offended if you feel that you're trustworthy? Besides your total trade value is low dude. In my eyes, I don't count you as trustworthy no offence about it. $300 Donor? Not a big deal either.

What you're saying is bias. Honestly, you can't say that if someone has under 150 vouches, they are untrustworthy? maybe it's the way you phrased it, but you can't go and determine somes trustworthiness from the amount vouches they have acquired.

Nooo, scammers? ON THE INTERNET? You don't say!

Seriously. Don't trust the exchanges, don't trust leveling services, don't trust your anti-virus software, and don't trust anybody online.

If you have to trust somebody with your Rsgp, for the love, choose carefully!
    - Do you know their full name?
    - Do you know where they are located?
    - Have they demonstrated trustworthiness in the past?
    - Are they asking you to trust them? (red flag)
    - Do they have collateral?

Consider carefully who you trust. With online currencies, detailed scams may be profitable.

I don't consider it bias. Someone may have a different view. They might look at people with 50+ vouches and say they are trustworthy. The point I'm making is different people looks at things differently. I clearly also didn't state that people with 150 vouches and below are untrustworthy. You might be right, I phrased it wrongly or whatsoever.

I wouldn't deem you as trusted member due to the amount and value of your vouches. I don't care if someone is active on the forums, has a high donor rank, or an old join date, that does not play a factor into trade; past transactions do. But hey that's my opinion, don't take it to heart.

^ Agree with everything symphony said.

OT: No not everyone is out to scam you, it's just the fact that you are fairly new and do not have a reputation on this site. Make sure to always use an MM or OMM and you'll be just fine. Always ask for a pm even though he or she may have a lot of vouches. Truth of the matter is, you should always suspect that everyone and anyone is a scammer and take the necessary precautions. Good luck in your future trades.

    scammers...

New people generally don't know how to trade on the internet. Well... They know how, just not how to trade safely. Scammers are like bullies. They target the weakest (less experienced in this case) and go for them, as they know it's easy pickings.

When I joined Sythe, I already had some knowledge of trading. Luckily for me it was to not trust anybody at all with anything. It paid off and stopped me from getting scammed, but after a month or so I didn't get anyone to trade with me as nobody would go first to a newbie. After a month though, I had a fair idea of who to generally trust, what ranks meant, what vouches meant etc... and I've never been scammed.

There are guides for trading on the forums if you look around, but the main thing is just being alert 24/7. If there is an email, double check it or even triple check it to make sure it's 100% correct, always get a PM from the user you're trading no matter what, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.. There are loads of little things to look out for which are extremely easy to follow and will stop 90% of scams.

If you need any advice or anything though, feel free to PM me :)

If you have proof of those scams head down to:
Read the stickies in that section and hopefully we can take action on these scammers.

To avoid being scammed by an impostor, ALWAYS request a PM on Sythe. If they refuse or make excuses, this is a good sign you are not speaking with the legitimate sythe account. A trusted user on Sythe will never refuse a PM, so if they do you're either talking to an impostor or their Skype has been hacked.

You can use a middleman to help a trade go smoothly, you can find them here:
Official middlemen are chosen by the Administration team after completing a rigorous application, you can identify an official middleman by the "Official Middleman" rank under their usernames on the forums or by looking at the online users list at the bottom of the homepage (offiial middlemen are identified by having their names underlined). You can use a non-official middleman but make sure to only use those who appear to be very trustworthy.

Feel free to add my Skype (RoaryNZ) or PM me if you have any questions or concerns.

Ha. I've got maybe 50 vouches total, in the 6 years i've been here, with nearly 4600 posts in total. Your logic is flawed.

Maybe not. 4,600 posts? Don't give a shit, it doesn't show that you're trustworthy. Posts counts is nothing. 6 years, don't give a shit too mate. Sorry.
50 vouches? I scanned through your Vouches page, not even close to 30 mate.

Just to toss this in. I distrust symphony888 just by his posts on this thread. He's gonna scam a big amount if he gets the chance.

And honestly out of everyone on this thread.

Amemthys is the one I would trust the most, followed by these 2 staff mebers, miner, zuzell.

Implying accumulating vouches makes one trustworthy.

You realize someone could easily sell 20-30 upgrades in a day (without going first, mind you) and feasibly have 100-200 vouches in a week? If anything, quality of vouches > quantity of vouches.

P.S - In my eyes, Amethyst is easily more trustworthy than you.
