New way of getting scammed - Beware

Recently, I talked to a guy on Skype. Thought he wanted to sell/buy stuffs to/from me. But turns out, he is trying to scam another guy.

    Member1: ME
    Member2: Scammer
    Member3: Victim

Member2 talked to me on Skype asking how much I buy at and sell at those kind of stuffs. Member2 was trying to scam Member3 by using my profile. Member2 requested a PM from me to his "profile". But turns out actually it is not his profile, it is Member3's profile which is the one he is trying to scam. Once I PMed him, I gave him a screenshot of it as I've said that I've PM-ed him twice but he did not get it. But in actual fact, he sent that screenshot link to Member3 trying to trick Member3 into thinking that he is the actual symphony888. Eventually, Member3 took the initiative to add me on my Skype and talked to me. Once he explained what happened, I added both of them into a conversation and right away Member2 went offline.

It might not clear enough to some of you.
    The simple procedure:
Member2 asked me to PM. But the profile he gave me was Member3's profile. So I did PM-ed and showed Member2 the screenshot. Member2 then send the screenshot link to Member3 as to let Member3 believe that he did send the PM and tried to scam him.

Member2 actually ASKED Member3 to post on my thread and he did post. So I did PM-ed that account. I also thought that Member2's account was that account. But actually he was trying to scam Member3.

The procedure is along those lines. Really hard for me to explain it to be honest.

JUST BECAREFUL OF THIS TYPE OF SCAM!

This has been going on for a while, nothing new about it.

You should always put your contact details in the private message so that the person can verify it themselves.

As previously stated, it's nothing that has recently come to light, however when PM'ing someone you should always include your own skype and their skype.

Thats why when you request a pm, you MUST copy/paste the last 5 lines of text in the skype conversation. Read the stickies..

Otherwise you can get them to pm you, and then reply to it; thats what I normally do.

This has been around for ages.

Also as for your comment. This doesn't matter in some instances. The "Man in the Middle" has used not one but TWO accounts before (to impostor BOTH USERS) and then copied/pasted messages from one to the other in exact order. I've ran into this once before and spent about 5 hours looking into it before I FINALLY realized what had happened.

I've had one actually copy exactly what I'm saying to the other conversation so when I did copy paste 5 lines, it looked like the same conversation. Always out their Skype
    Your Skype

A warning message etc. and then 5 lines of conversation.

Yeah rather annoying scam. The most annoying, however, was on MSN. A scammer would invite an afk, legitimate OMM into a conversation with a random soon-to-be scammed user. There was a MSN Plus addon that allowed users to impersonate other users. The scammer would do /ns, etc and it would look as if the OMM (from his real MSN address) was talking.

I came back to it once and it definitely looked as if I was talking in the window. I ended up having to pay out $50~ RSGP (luckily not a massive amount). I'm only making this public because MSN is being discontinued in a few days...
