JaGex Laying Law Down

So for those of you who have not been up-to-date on the latest Runescape Related E-Drama, I am going to list a few things that have been going on...

To start, one of the biggest things that has slowly been coming more and more common is, 'botting' on RS2007, and as of about a week or so~ JaGex is started to flag down many VPS Providers, Personal IPs, even so far as a whole IP Range, and instantly Perm-Banning any account that is logged in-to off of them, and a good amount of accounts have been pissed away this way as well. This is a early move in the game JaGex is making, and I'd say it was pretty successful on their behalf.
(Quick Interjection, one of the safest VPS Providers to-date that has no flag's whatsoever is FragVPS - Http://FragVPS.Com - I'd advise getting all your VPS Services from them).

Now we move onto 'Gambling/Flower Game/Dicing', Obviously this is a long-time coming, JaGex has been in a battle with the Gambler Community for a good while now, and we all saw it... In the 'March Behind The Scenes', JaGex stated that there will be changes implemented to finalize the removal of all possibilities to gamble ON RUNESCAPE DIRECTLY, thus leaving all gambling options to be done via 3rd party clients (IRC, Etc...) and basically give them a free no excuse pass to ban anyone who they even think is gambling due to breaching their ToS...

"Fishy" Cam Davis, 19 Vancouver - Was recently just completely perm-banned from 2007 on his account "Cam N Fishy" which was the owner of the friends-chat he ran on 2007 (which is now gone), for reason 'Illegal Activities' which is already an unheard of ban reason, and we all see what happened here, prior to this update JaGex keeps foreseeing will end Gambling for good, they seem to be picking out all of the important people related to Gambling... Some fun facts about Fishy's ban, he has not once RWT gold via 2007 since the release, only has traded EOC->07 which is still allowed by JaGex, he never purchased 07 Gold directly to his account via RWT, so no matter the case, JaGex really did ban him on the sole purpose behind 'gambling' of some sort.

In all, for the Market of Gold on 07, things are going to be getting a bit more challenging for people buying\selling gold, as with all of this going on, in addition to many mules from many different said Gold Companies are getting reset, JaGex seems to be laying down the law a bit more than they really are even on EOC, there is no telling how long they will continue to do this, but I find it ironic that we never even hit 750K votes and in theory they aren't even showing us 'all the security measures' they had planned.

Fantastic news tbh, good bye Fishy, hopefully gambling will be fully gone in RS007. And i support anti-bot measures to, i just think rs2007 is supposed to be fresh, back to the old days, nostalgia, i seriously dont agree with everyone botting 24/7 on it and ruining it yet again.

 

I think the botting is influctuating items into the economy and game, as well as providing a good amount of base accounts with high levels to bring in supplies to lower levels, imo. I would like to see some bot banning though as some of the bots are ridiculous, just by the hours spent botting and such. I don't know how they will decifer who and how.

As for gambling, I have never gambled.

Investing now would be an appropriate idea? In gold/items/such?

 

I hope they shut all bots down, they ruin the game.

Investing right now is the best possible thing to do, in a lot of the most popular items, the prices of things like Nature Runes / Red Chins / Herblore(Potions), everything is so up and down at the moment, with the release of Torsos, people will be focusing on getting defense, buying more rune armour, there is a great deal of investment opt's right now that the smart should be taking advantage of. ^_^

 

Good news, I can't wait until they ban gambling hosts, if you want to gamble then go to the duel arena.

 

The only sad part is, some of these gambling communities actually did come to gain a good amount of trust, I knew I could easily trade someone $500 Value, and if I 'won' whatever pot I bet, I would get the equal pay out.

There are probably more scammers out there in the Duel-Arena with rule switching, different names that are hard to look-up etc logging in and out with glitches...

 

This so much, I'm so sick of gambling, happy that they are doing something regarding it, I don't remember any gambling at all in 2007 and I don't want to see it in RS2007 v2 . :/

 

I myself have botted plenty, for various reasons. But I really would like to not see any bots ingame.

I don't know about all that severity lol, however people who were IN-CHARGE of gambling communities, then by all means.

Well I'm glad they've banned Fishy but this all seems like 'Too little, too late'.. several years on and after many gamblers have earned a living from RWTing now they finally decide to act, in 2007scape of all places.

 

Botted over 800 skill points in 2007 and im sure i can bot 800 more before they ban me.
