Jagex lying about player numbers

Yea this is weird allright, you'd think they'd notice this when they started the poll.

 

even if the frontpage is EOC + 07 the fact there is a fair amount of confusion within this thread should indicate jagex are being purposely deceptive to try and suggest more people are playing EOC than there actually are

 

I think it's the number of people online (the website). They don't have to be logged in a game.

If you go to the Runescape Homepage, it displays how many people are currently playing "Runescape", which includes 07 and EOC combined, as regardless of separate servers, they are both, Runescape.

And to work out how many are playing each, all you had to do was go onto the 07 homepage, and look at the number of players currently playing, then navigate back to the Runescape homepage and subtract the 07 figure from the combined figure on the homepage, and bam, you have your numbers separated.

But i do agree it is misleading, of course many players are going to quit EOC for 07, and they can't let it display "they are currently 30k players online", because it will make the game look like an absolute fail.

I think the intention of this idea was just to boost figures, many players have come back to Runescape specifically for 07, but they've chucked the figures together, so now it looks like an extra 50k players are online, when really we're all playing the side-server so to speak.

It says that many players are currently ONLINE.

Online = logged into the website, into the game, AND into the lobby.

Please, stop trying to make Jagex look bad, because you're the idiot here.

 

Jagex did the same thing with the poll that was on the home-page. It increased at a linear rate for days, absent the exponential rate that it increased on the first day the poll was released and the day that 07 Scape itself was released.

Nobody plays classic anymore, save for about 200 people

 

Obviously everyones going to be playing 07 as it's just been released. I think eventually the numbers will even out and EoC will take the lead again purely because people will get bored of no changes and quit.

 

I think we've established the figure includes RSC, RS2 & RS07

Currently online players for Runescape, they're not lying, it's just different variations of the same game and Runescape.com is their main page..

So yeah, answered me thinks.
