The Community Development team is now currently accepting applications for a position on our team!
Applications are open to everyone; staff and non-staff.
We are looking for users who are creative, experimental, reliable and willing to put time and effort in to our future endeavors!

So, who are we?

What skills are we looking for?

Creativity and imagination - Being on the CDT requires thinking outside the box to come up with unique, and possibly quite crazy, ideas for anything from community events and competitions to social media and advertising. From here we run with your ideas, adapt where necessary and try to put your plan in action as a team.

Willingness to assist and participate - When someone comes up with an idea it's essential that each member of the team should try to provide alternatives or constructive criticism to help aid the idea. You must be willing to do your fair share.

Ability to assess and take risks - Part of the CDT's mission is to try new and interesting things to liven up the community. If there's a chance your event may go horribly wrong, you must be confident enough to assess this and do your best to make it work. You can't be afraid of failure, we learn from our mistakes!

Team spiritied and dedicated - Possibly the most crucial skill to have. You must be able to communicate well with other users, differences aside, to be able to make our events work. Slacking and doing the minimum amount within the section and it's events will not help anyone. We need members who are keen to do their bit and work hard to advance the team. It is your duty to participate in every event you can to do this.

If you would like to join us in our mission, please fill out the following application form and post it on this thread. Please provide developed answers for each question, we will only select the best. Remember, your qualities shown around the forum will also be looked at and taken in to account.

Why do you want to join the team? I always wanted to give a bit back to the community and this would be a good opportunity.
What skills and qualities can you bring to the team? I'm willing to help with anything that is good for members of Sythe, ideas, constructive criticism etc.

I love being active in the community, and I feel like this is a great way for me to become even more community involved. I am also always looking for a way to have a bigger role in helping the community grow. I feel like this is a great opportunity.

I am hard working, willing to participate, ideas, willingness to learn and follow directions and perspective.

I am on all the time except for when I have class which is only 5 hours.

1) I have always enjoyed being a part of a team, and developing ideas, as well as projects. I personally think I would really enjoy being a part of the CDT. I also feel it would be a great opportunity to further develop my teamworking skills as well as communication. Last but not least, I think it would be reasonable for me to give back to the community, for all that it has given to me throughout the years.
2) I've always been confident in most aspects of life, I also find myself decently creative, and I do have the time and the willingness to put effort into my work and I normally strive to bring the best quality in what I do. I don't have a problem with taking risks either, as I work as a soccer referee, I'm used to having to make quick decisions and also having to take the responsibility if I make the wrong one. I personally feel I could be an asset in some ways to the CDT.
3) Online every day, I'd say about 5-6 hours online time a day (nearly 24/7 available on skype).

Why do you want to join the team?

Well, my interest started with the development of the Sythe server. Unfortunately, I was quite busy and I could not participate as much as I wanted to. I want to finish my job, as the server development has a long ways to go, and it's easier to communicate with community developers so we can get on it and tackle the obstacle. One thing I would really like to do is revamp the section, as it was like a ghost town. I think we need more amazing projects to come up with, and with them, we can definitely move forward with the prosperity of the community.​

What skills and qualities can you bring to the team?

I'm very experienced as a leader and a businessman. I can use my business mind to empower the community development team with insights toward how something should be done for Sythe.org, seeing as it is ina business at it's core. You see, the users are our customers, and we need to make our product, Sythe.org better, for everyone to use to boost activity. While experimenting may help spontaneously combust a burst of activity and improvement, we also need to use proven plans. With that being said, I'm great at making organized plans and bringing teams together to tackle large obstacles.​

How often are you on Sythe each week?

I spend approximately half of my life on Sythe.org. If you could add up all the hours I have spent on Sythe so far, I would be classified as a virgy nerd. I have a question for you though: how many hours of those do you spend pouring your heart out into the Sythe? I give it 100%​

Do you have anything to add?

Sythe is my other half. If I could make love to it, I would, and I would not use a condom because if I got it pregnant, I would raise and love the baby. You cannot understand how much I want to be in the community development team by words, so I will leave you with a picture. This picture represents my relationship with Sythe. This represents all my hard word. This represents my love, my affair.

Why do you want to join the team?

I want to join the team because as an ex-mod and ex-omm, I know a lot about the inner workings of the human psyche, and I feel with this knowledge I'll be able to increase activity on this site, through various means. I believe that a simplistic approach needs to be taken to the development of this site, which is helpful because I'm a simplistic man.​

I'm a dedicated worker, and I never quit anything without notice, so I'll be able to provide my input/ideas, that are amazingly good, constantly​

How often are you on Sythe each week?

I used to be on alot, but I'm on the computer all day pretty much, so checking Sythe during the day isn't exactly hard.​

I just want to re-affirm the fact that I've never quit anything in my life without giving a proper notice.​

 

Why do you want to join the team?

I spend most of my Sythe time lurking and this would give me something constructive to do rather than waste a lot of time just sitting around. I've never really contributed to Sythe because I've never had the chance and this would also giving me the opportunity to do so.​

What skills and qualities can you bring to the team?

Without trying to be cliché, I'm dedicated and would work as hard as I could to benefit the cause. This is a wonderful opportunity.​

How often are you on Sythe each week?

I lurk daily and can be available to talk on Skype for at least 15+ hours/day.​

Why do you want to join the team?
I would like to join the team because I feel like I would be a valuable asset to the squad, with high levels of activity and to my knowledge being overall a good member of sythe.org, which I think was proven with Motm winning 2 sections.

Too much. On the train every day is on my phone 2 hours, then at least 4-5 on my computer.

Many, I am patient and I think outside the box. I can understand other peoples opinions and ideas and develop upon them.

Why do you want to join the team?: I'd like to join the CDT to join the movement bringing activity and fun to the forums. You guys provide Sythe with fun events that bring the community together, and I'd really like to be apart of that.

What skills and qualities can you bring to the team?: I'm fairly active on Sythe and try to contribute to discussions as much as I can. I'm forward with people, but won't disrespect there input on things. I can do GFX to spice up threads, and such as well.

How often are you on Sythe each week?: Week days I'll be on for 3-5 hours, weekends 5hrs + If I'm not busy.

I'm very friendly, I have made a few decent suggestions to the website, and i'm ALWAYS on sythe. The only time i don't have a sythe tab up on my computer is when i'm not on so spending hours and hours on trying to develop something would not be a problem

I'm on sythe about 70 +/- Hours a week. I spend lots of my time trying to post what i can to help others, and help do a few services.

I'm on Sythe about 10 times a day and spend about 2-4 hours everyday and 3-5 hours on the weekend

I want to join the CDT, as this will better myself in the community, and will get me more involved with everyone here. I believe I would contribute a lot to this team and bring the best I possibly could.

I have many personal attributes that would contribute to the team, such as friendliness, a great mind set, activeness, dedication, great imagination. And the will and determination to create something great!
How often are you on Sythe each week?
Each week, I try to access sythe as much as possible, I currently work 38 hours a week (Full Time) which are from the hours of 8am - 4pm, which doesn't affect my activeness within the community. I try to sneak in 1 - 2 hours each morning before work, and roughly 3 - 4 hours after work.

I believe that I could bring a lot to the community, by involving myself with a lot of dedication. You wouldn't be able to find someone better fit for the offer. ​

I would like the chance to see if I could help the site grow. Also would like to do heaps of experimenting with my own ideas along with the input from the whole Sythe community.

The site is basically open and refreshing whenever I'm not out.

Why do you want to join the team?

I would like to be part of the team as I think I can help improve the whole community and forum in general, I have good knowledge of using forums and know how they work and what goes wrong. I can offer my advice and past encounters to benefit anything in the forseeable future for Sythe, whether than be making new sections, researching what people want and just generally finding out what the users want from this forum.

What skills and qualities can you bring to the team?

I have good knowledge of using forums, I know how they work, like I said above - I've been using vBulletin forums for a long time and know why certain forums die/gain members due to what the current market wants.

For example: When the new 07 server came out, Sythe introduced new sections and already they are filled with useful topics and sales beyond other sections.

I am a friendly approachable person who loves to listen to anyone and anybody whether they be a staff member, a donator or a regular user, everyones voice will get heard and it will be put forward. I am good at elaborating ideas, expanding on suggestions and ideas people make and just generally have good past experiences in this sector.

EDIT: I'd thought I'd mention the fact I am currently Moderating a RSPS with over a 100 on daily and over 1,500 active users, I host weekly events to keep the community binded together, some involve team work and some are individual efforts, mind twisting and head-hurting puzzles, I am currently holding one at the moment which has been running for a week and closes in 2 days, if you'd like confirmation of proof, I can happily supply and show it's infact me.​

I'm on Sythe all day (Not literally, 'all day' but, yes - all day) not meaning I am browsing the forums 24/7 I mean, it's always a tab on my browser and I flick to it 5-6 times an hour to check upon threads, messages and anything that catches my eye in the recent posted section. I say I am quite active and would be a great candidate as I am currently on a gap year, just doing some independant studies so have a lot of time on my hand.

Do you have anything to add?

I'd love to be part of the community development team as I believe I have a lot to give and I think I'd be great for the position, I am a great listener, good at the standard things you should be able to do to fit the position, for example punctuation, grammar and anything that doesn't make you sound like you should not fit the position. I'm easy to speak too, open-minded and I deem myself to be a trustworthy person who has a lot to teach and a lot to learn.​

I am experienced in managing and starting events. I have also run my own community in the past, and I currently moderate a forum for a triple A title game. (Anarchy Online)

Why do you want to join the team?
First off, I'm always on Sythe. I want to join "The Team" because I want to get more involved in the happening of Sythe. I literally sit here and go through the site just to pass time. I feel that if I was allowed to actually do something here it would be much more worthwhile and more productive. I enjoy expressing my ideas and receiving/giving criticism.

What skills and qualities can you bring to the team?
I am a great team player and a leader when placed in the situation. I have taken many risks in my life and have lived with the consequences, both good and bad.

Every day. 3+ hours a day, weekends more.
