Jagex lying about player numbers

After 07 was released, i thought it was strange that there was not a significant drop in the number of players playing. According to their main page:


but when you individually add up the amount of players on each of the eoc servers:

I did the maths after seeing this thread and I can't help but agree. Something odd is at work here.

Its showing the total number of players online..Not just EOC..

It's the added sum of both EOC and '07 players like it's been said so yes, there are more people playing 07 than EOC and there's nothing sketchy about this.

 

for this to be true, more than half the people would just be logged into the lobby and not into the game. Speaking from personal experience when looking at my friends list there is a max of maybe 5-10% logged into the lobby, and the rest into the game.

a) where has this been said?
b) i have not read anywhere that this number is both 07 and eoc and if so why does 07 have its own counter.

A) if you're talking bout the "sketchy" part, I wasn't directing it at you but at sith who said something odd is at work here.
B) what do you mean 07 has its own counter? care to link me to it? reason to why I said it is the sum because before 07 was released, the number was much lower than what it is now and with common sense, you would think that its the sum.

there's nothing surprising, more people playing 07 than eoc....

 

You will see this number shoot up when the easy to run bots are running.

I think it shows a combined number of all the servers and worlds.

Wow yes that is sad. I also noticed that the numbers seemed oddly inflated. I might try adding them up myself soon.

The small difference in the amount I think is due to foreign language servers, and possibly rs classic.

 

I've always thought they bullshit those numbers; it just seemed like they didn't add up.

 

Lying and Jagex, are not a new combination. Not surprised they lied about player amounts.
