Regarding Viou's Ban

Viou's case is different from the other cases. He both bought stolen gold and sold it for stolen money. He also offered to explain how this is done to the general population. The staff can not permit this as the reputation of the site is at risk and we must act to protect our members. No ban is ever set in stone and his case may be reconsidered at a later time. He may also request a pardon.

The staff is using it's best judgement to handle these cases in a fair and practical way in order to maintain the safety of our members and to give our sellers a chance to ensure that they are not committing fraud.

 

The thing about Viou's ban is most of the members weren't aware of the full ban reason. I assure you most us thought that he just knowingly bought hacked/scammed gold.

With my first post saying "Once a moderator confirms his FULL ban reason, I will post my opinion and would like to hear other peoples opinon".

Most of the users that posted along with myself wanted to know the full ban reason. After viewing a few more threads I agree with the ban reason completely but I think the community needed to be aware of the ban reasons straight aware to prevent people jumping to conclusions.

Thanks for clearing it up. If he was moving gold in that manner then he deserves the punishment but the disrespect shown in his disputes and pardon is not deserved. I would have expected staff to have kept a professional manner through the situation and posted in a similar manner but this was not the case. The whole situation felt like an example was being made and Sythe.org staff should uphold the reputation they are known to hold even where people have made a mistake.

I'm rambling on though, thanks SuF for clearing up the ban reason between Viou's wall of text and the mediocre responses it was hard to figure out why he was actually kept banned.

 

Viou was never involved in any of these threads apart from his disputes and high pardon, he did not contribute to any of those posts you are speaking of. By taking a look at Viou's dispute he showed nothing but respect, even after you called him a stupid man, he responded with a respectful post which was followed by a "fucking veto." Those members you have been hammering are going to spring up over any issue and those are the members who continuously want Sythe to fall. Those members are not going to go away but punishing members for the actions of others is wrong. I understand you are not required to be respectful to scammers or anyone but people follow the way staff lead because they believe that is how they will become staff, if nothing but disrespect is shown then you are promoting a disrespectful attitude but then punishing for that disrespectful attitude. There was no reason for FireZ to add "Fucking" to his veto or for you to call Viou a stupid man because your point could have been made without it.

I didn't see this edit but it has been made clear this is not a democratic government, the ruling structure on this forum is a mixture of different governments. It is your private club but you've always kept a professional manner in the past, I am not sure what occurred recently but that professional reputation has been deteriorating and if this is the new standard being set it will be the standard people follow on this forum.

 

Can't remember myself, does anyone have the link to where Viou states he helped Lebenfire funnel funds through PA by selling him gold, after knowing they were frauded funds?
