That's not my question. My question is, do we only ban for goods stolen out of the game (e.g. paypal hack, account recovery, etc, all of which are illegal), or also for goods stolen in game (bug abuse, in-game scamming, etc, all of which are legal).

Just because you have Sythe's avatar doesn't make you experienced. I've been around here for much longer than you have, and am much more respected/accepted by the community than you are around here, meaning that "we" do like "my type around here".

Why dont you (for whatever group you're speaking for) like the fact that I'm trying to get more information to evaluate the fairness of a ban of one of the most respected and useful members of this site.

I understand that, I enjoy trolling and the spam forum. I just didnt like his elitist attitude, and, if he was trolling, it was a fail so the best countertroll was to just call out the errors in the statement and address it as if it were a stupid comment.

It matters greatly.
On precedent, this site has very ambiguous rules, that vary and are often contradictory, regarding cheating and stealing in-game.

Our policies on luring, in-game scanning, and other in-game glitching have varied over time (see R2Ps thread where mods themselves are debating the policies [thread linked in Viou's second pardon post]).

Even if we had firm rules covering all forms of stealing in-game, this site was founded as a site to cheat in runescape. That means you get an unfair comparative advantage against other players, whether youre buying gold or using bots. These are fundamentally unjust activities. Players who do not use the blackmarket are put at a significant disadvantage.

Additionally, it should be noted that legally, Jagex owns all in-game virtual property, so in-game goods cannot be "stolen".

I'm not sure where I stand on what the policy should be, but I dont think the policy regarding in-game stealing is nearly well defined enough to ban one of the most respected, generous, and critical members of the site over.

 

Lol, that's a good point you know. All items are owned by Jagex so its impossible for the items to be classed as stolen.

 

In that case we should ban everyone who sells gold in the market for selling things that do not belong to them. -.-
