Announcement - Hotmail Explpoit

Seems there was another of these exploits, and that's how all these Sythe accounts of recent have been getting hacked/used to scam.

Maybe put up an announcement so people are aware and can alter/change their email preferences?

 

Generally you can just PM an online mod for something urgent like this.

 

Forgive me if I am just unaware but from you saying "seems" does that mean you know there definitely is or are you just assuming?

 

I don't know 100%. Is just what I heard. But 9/10 times when Sythe accounts have been getting hacked, especially active ones it's been a hotmail exploit/keylogg. Judging by the users who've been hacked, none seem silly enough to get keylogged, so it ends up with an exploit.

 

Sound logic. If we don't know what the exploit is though or even if it does exist, then how can we know how to prevent it? Scaremongering without any evidence is pretty bad.

 

Hotmail has always been unsafe, and there's almost always some way to hack accounts. I don't think this is announcement-worthy. Thankfully, most people these days use hush and other email systems anyway
