    it's going to be very interesting to see how it pans out.

    just thinking about it today, the only way to get actual GOLD early on is by the general store, monster drops and questing. and even then it is very small.

    post any other thoughts/comments on the 2007 economy here

    I plan on getting 99 rc like I did in the old days because Nature runes are going to be worth a lot of money :)

    Alching will put money in the economy. Resources are going to become a currency so food, ore,bars, logs, bows ect will be used to trade for items and other resources.

    It'll be an item-based economy, and not a gold-based economy.

    "Selling Whip, 10k Sharks!" and shit like that. Well, until gold trickles into the economy which it will with high-alchemy/monster drops/selling stuff/thieving/etc.

    actually yeah i forgot about alching lol. i guess like 4-5 days after release it will start pumping a lot of cash in to the economy with all the pkers leveling up magic.

    Yea 99 magic is like 198K Alches, alching yew longs bows which is the most popular item so each person that gets 99 magic will put 152M Into the economy.

    I'm going to start thieving right away. Hopefully I can start stealing silk, that'll be a good method imo. People are all going to try doing gold creating methods since they know that even small amounts of gold will be valuable.

    It will be interesting it will Also be interesting to see if they add rares into the economy or starter cash, I will be on tutorial island for a while :)

    I think I read if it gets enough votes for a small development team they may add rares into via holiday events like they did back in the day. And Yea I think it might be smart for them to start everyone with 100k-1M but we'll see.

    99 magic is months down the track though. short-term we can expect a stark gold surge through alching

    i thought about thieving, from memory i think pyramid plunder gives a lot of raw gold. can anyone correct me on this?

    in the Q&A the j mods stated that if they get 500k+ votes then they will consider rares and how to implement them into the game. personally i don't see "rares" making any impact economically.

    no way bro that just takes all the fun out of it being a fresh start.

    They're not giving people gold to start off with and no rares unless we hit 500k votes.

    Only way to bring lots of gold in like others have said is to alch or sell shit to general store.

    uhhh i'm almost 100% positive you don't get actual raw gold but metal scabraite item pieces, which can be sold to an npc for a set amount of gp depending on the metal

    I feel you on that but still giving us something to trade with and will boost the economy which would be a plus. I don't think you realize getting money just to buy equipment from shops is going to be a difficult task. I just want to get straight to slayer and not worry about getting money to buy equipment :p

    Edit: and didn't you start with 10K or was it like 3k? Then you can get 10k from the stronghold.

    what i see being instantly viable and sough after is armoury, through of course smithing.

    pkers will fish for their own to start with. trout is alright health and doesnt take long to get the fishing level required.

    things will get interesting when we see monster drops enter the game

    no bud you start off with 25 gp, a bronze sword and im almost certain a bronze round shield. But yeah forgot about the stronghold, gotta get your 10k lol

    people wont be getting through the stronghold for the first few days at least. have to get past level 80 skeletons on the 4th floor

    I remember doing it on a level 20 or so easily. As long as you have 20-30 hp and food you'll be all set.

    true lol, i literally have not logged on to runescape since 2008. forget these things. you guys will definitely have to guide me through though ;)

    it's gonna be cool logging back in again after 5 years to pretty much exactly how i left it with none of these bullshit updates
