Jagex started making holiday items untradable because they didn't like the fact that people were just using them to make money. They were suppose to be "fun" items, not money makers.

 

Since Holiday items were just supposed to be cosmetic, and people like how they look, they should just be added to a shop so they aren't rares but just serve as purely cosmetic. Not really sure about the edible ones though.

I have not said that. I said "we should want...". If you honestly care this much about the rares on the servers then perhaps play a private server idk?

My point is simple. Let Jagex worry about the technical aspects of what to do. We should concern ourselves with actually getting the old combat system back, possibly making new accounts etc etc. Why make a thread about an issue that has little to no relevance on the gameplay. The reason RSC servers remained is because people were loyal to that style of gameplay. No one really cared about the rares. If you liked RSC, you kept your items on RSC. If you liked RS2, you kept your items on RS2. What is the problem?

You asked a really odd question about what will happen. Perhaps if you asked "will we be allowed to move items to RS 2007" I would have understood, but your original first post just implies you want rares to be re-added to 2007 servers like wtf? Why the heck would that make a difference and who honestly cares if they are or aren't? The fact we are getting the game back to PLAY should be enough incentive.

Anyhow, I don't mean to be rude and I do apologize if it comes across that way. I just remember the wildly coming back and it wasn't all that great tbh because it did bring back an influx of RWT again. Plus it reeks of Jagex using us to get more cash when they could just remove the new combat system and put it back into beta.

Jagex should just set their prices to how they are in current rs. People will just buy all the phats and expect them to skyrocket.

 

i agree i doubt they will add them and also for ages things like 3rd age armour will act as rares as you have to remember everyone is starting from scratch and its going to take ages before people have divines and whips and so fourth

by just handing out rares to random players who have done nothing to earn them will cause huge problems

 

Nobody will ever have a divine on the 2007 servers, reason being they were not invented then.

When Rares like santas originally came out (I don't know about phats I didn't play that early) you had to kill npcs to get them which ment skillets had to buy them back then to.

We already covered the fact that SOF won't be on 2007.

 

May seem silly but maybe sell them into the economy from Player Admins in a scale of how rare they were around then.

Pricing it would be the difficult thing since they'd have sell it at the GDP. (basically selling it at a value that would make sense in comparison to an average persons wealth on the game)

However this obviously could prove very difficult and maybe for time and effort on the admins sake, probably not worth it.

I can't really think of any other fair methods which would put them in the economy in a way they used to be...

 

Jagex employee's do not have the ability to trade with players, therefore it wouldn't work :/

 

I've heard rumours about them opening a shop where these rares are of certain prices - with a limited amount of each rare (estimated from the active rares in August 2010).

This leaving the first people to get to a worth-while cash pile able to buy the rares - the harder each player works the more rares they can get their hands on, knowing their investments are worthwhile as the rares will be worth more in future.

Personally I wasn't the biggest fan of 2007 for gameplay. I preferred RS just before the EoC came out.
However 2007 was my favourite time for merching and making money. That's for sure the main thing I'm looking forward to.
