(Thread Invites) <-- Super Cool Idea For Promoting Thread

Ok so i was thinking the past couple of days about a good way to "Promote" your thread as in get more Buyers etc.. to check out your thread no matter what section its in not just for selling virtual & no virtual items/goods but for any type of thread within reason not for the spam form etc.. only the buying,selling,trading,cheats,guides etc.. anyways now lets get to the point of what these "Thread Invites" are so now down to the real info i was thinking "Donators" $25+ would get "150" "Thread Invites" a Month and you can't save them to have 300 in 2 months no that would cause to much spam you get "150 Thread Invites" per month if you are a $25+ Donator etc.. the users drop down menu you click to lets say "Private Message" under that would contain "Send Thread Invite" and in your "User CP" under where its says info about how many "PM's" you have and how much space is left in your inbox would say "You have --- Thread Invites Remaining"


has nothing to do with a PM it sends the User a invite saying something like "new updated RSN shop come check it out" a semi-short message.

Seems pretty pointless, so you can send someone a PM with your thread invitation link. ;S Also someone like this would take a lot of work to implement as it would have to be custom as I don't think there is a plugin for VBulletin for this.

Oh right, seems like it is giving a unfair advantage to donators in the market. Plus it would piss me off getting thread invites all the time.

 

thats why there limited this can be tweaked a little more taking input is good no matter if its good or bad input.

 

It'd bug the hell out of me. Also, I'm pretty sure it's been stated before that a user's financial state shouldn't affect their ability to compete with bigger sellers.

 

it sounds like it's meant to be a donor perk

I'm okay with it as long as I can disable these.

 

This^. I'd be a slight fan as long as we could disable the invites or look for specific ones... say I'm looking to buy 10B RSGP, I would select only to receive invites from the Gold Sales thread.

 

Yeah, I rememer seeing ages ago a post regarding perks that gave too much of an advantage over smaller/newer sellers.

Also, if I'm looking for, for example - a rare name, I'll go to the rare name section and chances are if your thread is within the first 4 or 5 pages, I'll see it. This is easily done just by bumping.

Just not feelin this one.

Denied, it would create an unfair advantage and it would probably be annoying to a lot of users. People would feel attacked by the invites, especially if they're not interested.
