His ban is completely unwarranted and as he pointed out here: http://www.sythe.org/dispute-ban-twc/1530772-sythe.html there are numerous threads that are worse, but the fact is that the staff usually gang up, flame a single member that is generally disliked and no one makes a fuss about it. You can also refer to this thread: http://www.sythe.org/feedback/1530106-community-feedback-issues-consistent-e-bullying.html which brings up many of the same points. The staff here is completely biased and it is flagrantly obvious. It is completely fine if you flame someone that isn't in their in-circle but as soon as someone get flamed that is in that inner circle the spam forum becomes a death camp and if you say anything about that person you're banned, infracted, or similarly punished

If you're going to choose to enforce rules then enforce them for everyone, not just certain people.

The fact is, Sythe gave him the ban. There is nothing staff can do, Punjabi has to speak to Sythe to get this sorted out.

While I do agree with you that there is an inner circle that goes on in SF, I almost feel as though Punjabi's ban was justified in the mannerism that it was blatantly disrespectful. However, in the same respect Sythe himself was equally as disrespectful.

Now the fact that Punjabi3 came back in such a mannerism to show no respect for the site or anyone on it -since he merely wanted to just do trades- provides a just cause of ban denial. You can see it here: http://www.sythe.org/dispute-ban-twc/1529339-sythe.html

Sythe had more than enough sympathy to let him back IF he showed some respect to the community.

I read through the whole thread and the fact that Punjabi3 came in with a really crappy attitude was very uncalled for. In fact, he was like that the whole day if I remember correctly. Now, since I could recognize that... I would imagine that others should have been able to recognize it as well - With that in mind he should have been temp. banned from SF with the warning to -cool off- as opposed to a permanent ban.

At this point it's up to the decision of the mods/admins to make this choice. The simplest thing to do would be to unban him and just perm-ban him from SF... but I feel that in the same respect he will come back with the same crappy attitude he had when he was perm banned -

............ Not cutting all this out. Just read your post Sythe (Punjabi3s at a 2week ban) and that seems like an ample period to cool off. Hopefully he will have a better attitude when he comes back.

 

^ He posted his pardon the same day he got permed and anyone who gets permed for what they think is unjustly will obviously be mad for some time which is why you see such attitude in his pardon. He really isn't like that and its all joke and games in the spam forum anyways.

But see... that's my problem. Instead of posting his appeal the same day that he got permed, why not wait? Cool off, think about what happened. While he may have thought it unjustified (to be banned), why not think of it from the other point of view.

I know neither party in great depth and thus I took it as a direct flaming of Sythe -- Yes I know it's SF, but at the point they were at, it appeared outright disrespectful... There was no laughing matter in it - just anger.

If he wants to make a true appeal, why not try after he cooled off. Although, at this point it doesn't matter. It has been reduced to a 2 week ban anyways.

 

If this is the case then there is a vast majority of the site that needs banned then, including a good number of the staff. Most act maliciously and attack specific people continually over and over till no end that go past good natured rabble rousing, and I will admit doing it as well. Punjabi may have an attitude at times but he has been a good and productive member of this community. It is no where near good PR to march around and ban people that ruffle your jimmies.

Either way, this is a moot topic now as I suppose there will be no argument with the rest be damned attitude that has been taken.

 

People think irrationally when they're mad and I've seen other posts similar to Punjabi and nothing was done about it. I found it fun and games but Sythe obviously didn't and decided to perm ban which was too much in the eyes of many. 2 week ban sounds more appropriate.

It's hard to debate something like this as Sythe at the end of the day has the ultimate say as this is his forum so I doubt what we say means much.

 

I recognize that people think irrationally when they're mad (I've been there). In the same respect, from an outsider's POV I could not see any fun and play in it after a certain point.

I do agree though about the last paragraph, and 2 weeks sounds more appropriate. It was the right choice in the end. The fact that there are people stomping their feet about this is starting to get irksome. It's been dropped to a 2 week ban - that's a rather fair ultimatum.

 

At the end of the day, Sythe can remove anyone from this site at anytime.

 

This makes me laugh im glad his banned. He used to be disrespectful to many members here, not just in the spam forum, but were ever he lurked.

How can he be disrespectful if he lurks and doesn't post: surely by not posting his opinion wouldn't be voiced so you would be assuming he is disrespectful?

Also, being "disrespectful" in the spam forum is the norm. If anything he was a saint compared to some people in there.

 

Whos said he lurks and never post's? Also like i said not just in the spam fourm he used to act like he was a saint by thinking he was above other user's. My opinion he was a prick buh hey thats just me. I used to like the dude untill he through his voice around to much like people view him as a boss plz... this is a fourm yeah made friends through sythe but never looking to lick ass for status .

Tbh him and Delta wasn't exactly being helpful/friendly in the community, was they? It was constant flame that we really do no need here at Sythe.

 

i didn't notice punjabi posting that much it could be as i didn't really pay attention that much. But Delta was never helpful, when he got some infractions he knew to just pm the mod who gave it to him but he decided to bash all the new mods that were giving him infractions and basically call them pathetic. So there is really no use for that here.

Punjabi was mainly arrogant and rude to Sythe. He was direct, and always spoke his mind. His antics were predominantly within the spam forum, if not all within it. He was singled out by Sythe, which is unjust IMO, but up to Sythe himself, as it's his site.

He was helpful, and he did help the community. As said, most if not all of his 'flame' was within the spam forum; where more or less every member has participated in similar antics before.

Not sure about Delta, but Punjabi was unfairly banned, but as mentioned, it's Sythes choice.
