Scammers

Everytime i post my skype BOOM it blows up and i ask them all to pm me on skype, half are banned :/....

 

Just stick to asking for PM's as you already are, you seem to know how to conduct safe trades so just keep how you are. When in doubt ask for a PM and use a OMM.

 

In that case, don't post your skype. Ask people to PM you if interested, then provide them with your skype.

Just make sure whenever you are trading you always request a private message to make sure that you aren't talking to an impostor.

Well, you can always request to use a MM if they are paying through a safe method. But if they want to pay via PP, fuck them lmao.

Put your Skype into your profile settings, that way legit people can connect through there. And you won't have to post it all over Sythe..
Always ask a PM on Sythe from the person as a second safety check.

And if you have your doubts or they look fishy use an (O)MM or just blow the deal off

This is the reason. You'll find that the majority of vaders are viewing your topics unregistered. Simply hide your contact details and allow users to request them via PM. This will filter a large portion of vaders.

 

Yep always ask for a PM and within the PM ask for the chat logs, also a lot of people accounts are being hacked mostly Apprentice and Guru+ so watch who you trade look at users recent post if there not in the gold business and then all of a sudden are trying to buy and sell gold look at that and just put everything together, scammer are easy to point out.

 

Remember, screenshots are easily photoshopable and are an inadequate form of Identity. Always request a PM on SYTHE

 

Sometimes i wonder whether we'd have half the scammers we have if sythe wasnt so notorious for newcomers trading carelessly.

 

It's not really isolated to Sythe and it isn't Sythe's fault either. Several newcomers get scammed over at powerbot also. It's just unfortunate that they are unaware of certain things. Sometimes they will even research how to conduct a safe trade a bit but there are a few loopholes that still gets 'em, like the skype one on the announcements (although that has been like that for a while I believe).

Just trade safely. Use a MiddleMan, make sure to ask for PMs, and never do a trade if you're feeling forced.
