A little advice with botting.

So, they claim to be banning 1000 accounts a everyday for botting. Is that even true?

Where are places known to have the new bot detection system? I know LRC has it, but is it just with mining? or is it unsafe to fish rocktails as well?

How good is the new detection? Is it really banning 1k people everyday? Should any new precautions be taken while botting?

a lot of dungeneering botters got banned, a lot of QBD botters got banned

Yeah, probably true about the 1,000 bans a day. Most of those are probably adbots though.

The known locations currently are: LRC, Daemonheim (Dungeoneering), Queen Black Dragon, and I heard a rumour that Slayer locations were recently added, but I have not seen substantial proof for that yet.

It's good enough that the bots from Powerbot involved have had their thread blown up with user after user reporting being banned, even after massive updates that are supposed to fight against BotWatch.

The precautions that should be taken (if you want to eliminate your risk of ban) would be to use a bot that isn't detectable. Almost all of the bans have been from users of Powerbot/Epicbot. That's not flame against them; that's fact.

I would just not not at then places that have not watch on it for awhile.

 

The only people being banned are adbots, and rarely. I doubt that 1,000 figure; I haven't seen any legits complain about being banned in a long time.

 

undetectable bot, which bot would that be? I've only ever used rsbot

 

as far as i know, rsbot (powerbot), uses a modified client that you can use it, that's why it's easy for fagex to catch you

if you want to be really safe, use TRIbot or simba/scar, as they don't need a modified client

but nothing ever happens.

 

What confuses me is if they have some amazing botwatch detection system, why not activate it everywhere and not just in a few select places?

You always see people say 'oh they're watching dungeoneering loads this week' or whatever..they're probably 'watching' everywhere.

 

1000 bans/day = ~half a year to CLEAR runescape players altogether? dont think so. must include advert bots.

 

I've added some extra debug to the startup. Could you try to start TRiBot again, and post what the TRiBot Loader says either here or at TRiBot Forums? I'm the owner of TRiBot by the way.

I've changed some things around. What does it say when you run it now?

 

Robotz in Disguise (RiD). v2.0 is specifically designed to fool any long-term behavior analysis system (e.g. BotWatch) into believing you're a human, and not a bot. This system is so completely different from the old system that RiD himself (the owner, and ONLY developer) says that any bans that occured pre-2.0 (there were extremely small amounts back then, and some bots at RiD still have 0 bans, ever) are now completely irrelevant to the current system. Basically that they are so different that they cannot even be compared.

Clearly you haven't paid much attention to Jagex's statements about the matter...

Jagex has repeatedly stated that BotWatch is not as simple as one update and it covers all of RS. It's methodical process. This means they overview RS and pinpoint which areas are most botted, or any area that they feel should be targeted in general. Then they begin work on BotWatch. After they've determined the best way to detect and ban the bots in said area with BotWatch, they incorporate it and activate BotWatch for that area.

This means that they will cover all of RS eventually; it's just a matter of time. Jagex has to manually configure BotWatch for each location; think about how many different locations there are that contain bots? Jagex will have to slowly over time activate it at each of these one-by-one.

It's a matter of time, and only that, before BotWatch covers all of RS.

 

Avoid botting dungeoneering and queen black dragons and you'll be fine.

 

Yeah, this is basically what I've heard as well. Lrc/dung/qbd seem like the places to avoid right now. I'm giving my account a little break from botting right now just to make sure that I'm okay.
