If you're going to infract someone for "Breaking a rule" then do it the first or second time it happens..... Not the 6-7th time....

Waiting this long to infract a user makes them think its OK to do what they are doing since they didn't get infracted the first handful of times...

Just bitching about an infraction I got for confirming I completed an order on MY thread...

Not sure I remember seeing that in the rules, pretty sure it said you can't say added, thanks, etc.... But hey, shit happens...

Just start infracting people the first time they do it so they don't think its ok to do it.

 

maybe the first time it didnt get noticed/reported? maybe they didnt get round to doing it?

just gotta deal with these things. there just infractions...

 

Well the way the rules are now, its easy for staff to pick at shit and call it "excessive bumping" either be more specific about what we can say instead of making it up off the spot since its not LISTED in the rules, or just change the rule to NOT be able to reply at all on our own threads in less than 8 hours...

Bottom line, update the damn rule book to tell us what we can't say on our threads, because if its not listed, it shouldnt be infractable. Period

E: Also to add to this since I can already guess what staffs argue will be, saying that it "wasn't report or seen the first few times" isn't good enough. IF a user has posted it that many times he/she obviously thinks its ok to do it, so if they have never been warned, that should come first before an infraction....

Again, I suggest adding the reason for the warning to the rule book, because if it isn't listed, how are users suppose to know its against the rules

 

I'm dealing with the same thing at the moment but with a TWC instead. I've never gotten a valid reason why I received one just a rude response from an admin "Obviously I need to learn how to deal with GC's". After I showed proof of the trade he just deleted my thread. The site needs a change.

 

You are not allowed to bump your thread more than once every 8 hours. This includes saying you've completed an order, or anything to be honest.

You made a post before 8 hours had passed before the previous one. That's why a staff member infracted you.

This is unfortunately one of the downsides of a Blackmarket website. All of the "Admins and members of the Staff" are mostly kids, and not qualified or licensed by any means to give proper customer service.

You have to learn to deal with it, sadly.

@Dean, i do believe it is classed as 'excessive bumping'. 'YOU CAN ONLY BUMP ONCE PER 8 HOURS'. If you bump within that time; its an excessive bump. No?

 

Just about all the staff are 18+ And even then very few are under 18. You don't need to be qualified or licensed in customer service or anything like that to be staff. Its a voluntary thing, not a job.

If people read and understood the rules, there wouldn't be any problems like this.

 

Okay, they are 18+, but they don't give any proper support. Obviously you don't need any qualifications, but would it make a difference? Certainly!

 

This is the feedback section, not the dispute section... I didn't ask to have it removed, I merely told them my feelings about it and how I think it could be fixed..

In a previous thread like this Dave mentioned talking with your customers were ok as long as it didn't say something like Thanks, Added, etc.

So, again, to aviod anymore confusion, they should be more specific in the rules as to what excessive bumping is since its a toss up at the moment

 

Just report them and they will be dealt with. Moderators aren't going from thread to thread and from post to post to check that.

 

If you actually posted something constructive instead of getting mad and whining, you might have more success, just saying.

I agree it needs clarification. The middleman forum rules need a revamp, and need to be clearer. Specifically with "early bumps" and the deal with what you can and can't put in your "terms of service", even I didn't know about that, along with some OMM's.

 

The way I judge the rule of bumping is as follows, and I believe this is how its meant to be followed by everyone unless I've been mistaken.

Confirmation of the beginning or orders (in your case skilling questing etc.) Is fine. These confirmation posts are usually 5-30 minutes right agter a user's post who wants the order and this is a form of safety which I believe if completely warranted on threads that involve long-term services.

However, confirmation of completion or an order, vouching, and anything else that isn't assuring some type of safety or answering a question is classified as a bump.

With this being said -

I haven't looked at your infraction, but if it was for you stating you completed someone's order, then you could have just edited your first confirmation of the order or even waited for them to vouch on your thread which fullfilles the confirmation.

I think the bump rule is fine because its not like we're going to list every form of text/phrasing that is or isn't allowed on the rules, however I'll post something in the staff lounge regarding making a slight change on the wording of that clause to be a bit more detailed.

2. It doesn't matter if we infract you the first time or the 8th time, you still only get one infraction and it serves as your warning.

3. Infractions are warnings, if you accumulate too many you get banned (therefore a warning before a ban). The actual yellow card warnings are used mostly for signature violations here.

 

Ok thanks for actually reading what I said and taking the time to see if it can be changed so its more understandable..

Also, it may be against the rules, but like I said some people might not think it falls under the bump classifications since the first few weren't reported. I think if the user hasn't received a warning for the said post yet, they shouldn't be able to just be handed an infraction unless its states clearly in the rules that its not aloud, in this case it isn't.

Why does staff always say a user is "whinning" just because the feedback doesn't say something like "Great job guys!!! Keep it up you're the best!!" -.-

Well that is a thread tonight where someone did 3 bumps in like 20 mins?

rules are about consistency.you can't let some people get away with it and not others,and defo people who do it far worse.

 

This makes sense.. I can understand if I posted I was doing the order now, then 20 minutes later replied and said order complete. But the only reply I put was that I completed the order, I do this not only to make contact with my buyers but also to show others that I am making sales and like to interact with my customers.

 

I agree with both sides I can see how it is double bumping but I can also see how it can be interacting with your customers as well, and letting people know they you are successfully completing orders on the flip side of that vouches also show that as well.
